Can you explain to me Elways contract that circumvented the cap for the Broncos.

Or can someone link me to the post where Mo eludes to it. It was very recent.

Sorry if this is OT mods. Move if you wish..

Thanks Deus, much appreciated.

• 3. Titans (1-0): RB Chris Brown looks like the real deal.
• 20. Falcons (1-0): A team that fancies itself a playoff contender shouldn't have to struggle to beat the 49ers, even on the road.
• 30. Dolphins (0-1): Must count on RB Lamar Gordon to be the savior.
lol. The Titans went 5-11 in Chris Brown's only good year. The Falcons won their division. And Lamar Gordon... There's a guy I forgot about completely

Love to see this on ESPN or elsewhere, "So VP of Football Operations Mr Elway, in winning your 2 Super Bowls how crucial in your opinion were the salary cap violations in retaining the needed on field talent?"

I can safely predict that something like this will never happen

Broncos haven't won the super bowl since, coincidence? You decide.

The penalty for the violation of the rules was a THIRD ROUND DRAFT PICK. Funny how the penalty for filming from an in appropriate position warrants a penalty of a FIRST ROUNG PICK. But then the commissioner wasn't an overpaid POS Jets employee.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the actions of that POS when his old employer broke the same rule is the most infuriating of all. To go by the rule, the Jets have been in violation of that rule twice. And their excuses have been: 1. He works for our film crew (see the lime green vest) and 2. The Pats gave us permission (to break an NFL rule). And there were no penalties.

Amen Brother. How many draft picks were the Jets fined when their side line players tripped the MIami player duringf the game. LOL

Well I was enjoying a calm morning before I unfortunately clicked on this thread. Now I'm all fired up again reliving one of my all time pet peeves. Why are the Pats labeled as cheaters, when what the Broncos did during THEIR superbowl run in the late 90's was the text book definition of "creating an unfair competitive advantage", while the Pats merely broke procedure by gaining information that could have been gotten legally a dozen different ways, and thus gained no "unfair competitive advantage".

THANKS a lot, for disturbing my wa, guys.

It's pretty funny that MoLewisRocks hasn't chimed in yet.

That's because while the initial thread title intrigued...by the time I saw the thread DI had answered the question fully. Now it's just become another spygate whining exercise.

Well, apparently it's your fault according to the OP.:nono::eat1:

Sorry to bother you, but you are 100% correct. Let us not forget that the 49ers were also fined for the same type of violation, a THIRD ROUND DRAFT PICK. As for stopping whining about this, I will be happy to do so when the 30 million dollar POS apologizes to the Patriot Nation for insinuating they were cheaters, reveals who leaked the tapes to Fox TV, actally punishes the Jets for any of their violations or Hell freeezes over which ever comes first. I am betting on Hell freezes over.

I think OMGWTFJUDD said it best in a past post...just embrace it. Most fans know it was all crap; if you run into one of the ones that thinks Spygate was actually cheating (or Marshall Faulk) just go along with it. "Hell yeah we cheated, and your team was dumb for not doing it too! A first round draft pick for 3 Super Bowl Championships? I'll take that trade off any day!" Don't bother arguing the logical stuff (Belichick must have learned it somewhere, other coaches admitted to doing it, why didn't it lead to Super Bowls ever year Belichick coached in NE or in Cleveland, ect ect) because they are already an irrational bunch clinging to crap to make themselves feel better.

Success breeds jealousy. When they stop hating us it's because we are no longer relevant. Enjoy it while it lasts!
