W. Welker - WR - 18
O. Umenyiora -DE - 39
L. Landry - S - 75
T. Porter - CB - 92

total = 224

We retain Welker, add pass rush with Osi, hard hitting Saftey with Landry, and a starting CB in Porter. Go WR in the first round, OL in the 2nd. I think with these defensive additions the Pats D would be significantly improved and could actually be intimidating again.

So you're expecting the Pats to roll with Gronk, Hernandez, Ballard, and Keller?

BTW: you can't pick Landry.

I guess I'll just have to wait until someone better than Lndry gets cut to push him down to 76...otherwise, maybe give tracy porter a shot

as for Keller, the pats need a 2nd body to be able to execute the plays meant for hernandez, otherwise there is too much risk for the scheme. If what hernandez does means so much, you need a 2nd guy who can do that....I think Keller would be perfect...between them and the possibility of having woodhead, vereen, and demp, all of who can line up wide....the pats will just kee 1 less WR on the roster

All true. I guess cap isn't a consideration here, but it just seems like a lot of quid to have tied up at one position.

Maybe the deepest TE corps in history, though.

If that's the case, brace yourself for another year of defensive suckage.

porter would get no guarantees from me since he flopped at denver, but I think he's got something to show worth a 1 year deal....I would not be opposed to bringing arrington back though I think he may cost more

9. Henry Melton
49. Dwight Freeney
67. Keenan Lewis
88. Kyle Arrington

There's a starting 3-tech, a situational pass rusher, and #1 and #3 CBs. Get WRs in the draft.

you add a proven target like hartline, you still have lloyd (I think he would be a pretty good deal if he could produce another 900 plus yard year for 4.9M)....

based on these 4, my draft in the 1st 3 rounds would consist of a DB (maybe S elam in round 1, OT dallas thomas or kyle long in round 2 and WR ryan swope in round 3)

Dashon Goldson 22
Jason Jones 29
Brian Hartline 54
justin forsett* 95

I would rather give up one point and take demestress bell(199 total), or drop two spots and grab ricky jean francois(202 total)

I thought it had to total 200 not be at least 200 sub RJF for justin forsett

Surprised to see Demetress Bell's name called so often on account of the fact that he's a steaming pile.

I like this a lot, but given you're set from 36 up I think you can do a lot better than Freeney.

Sebastian Vollmer 8
Richard Seymour 46
Ed Reed 68
Leodis McKelvin 90

total of 212

Jairus Byrd- 13 (Long term solution in the secondary)
Osi Umenyiora- 39 (Pure edge rusher to complement Jones for 1-2 years)
Malcolm Floyd- 73 (Here's your big burner)
Josh Cribbs- 91 (Only player from 76-100 with great playmaking ability)

Total: 216

I would be pretty upset if Cary Williams was our #1 CB. He really isn't that good, very bleh.

Malcolm Floyd- 73
Not actually a free agent, despite his spot on this list.

(And it's Malcom without the second L, as Malcolm is his older brother )

I wasn't advocating that. I was more or less just playing by the rules of the game. Given the game's limitations, I had to choose between Williams and DRC. Williams is the more scrappy guy of the two, and would be the guy I would choose to try to improve the physical nature of the secondary. Under this scenario, Williams and Dennard would give the Patriots a physical set of CB's with both excelling in press, with Dennard (in year two) becoming the CB1.

That was exactly my thinking in choosing him also.

I'd never want to take him as he'll be extremely overpaid next month, but in the nature of the game he fit perfectly.
