The fact that they're measuring this storm in "feet" is insane...unreal. Please stay safe and be extra careful over these next few days. So far the news definitely isn't encouraging in terms of the amount of snow as well as high winds, so definitely take care of yourselves. :)

This is from Channel 5 in Boston - seems a little unnecessary:

Give it a few more hours, Ian. Soon, they'll be predicting the rise of the frost giants and the deaths of the gods.

Getting 4-8 inches here....I guess that's a break considering what New Englanders are getting.

We certainly all are paying the price now for the winter that never was of 2011-12

Unfortunately. Saw it on FB and thought it was a joke. Apparently not

YOu know, I actually deleted my post saying "Is that for real" because I was certain it was a joke. You know, with the high numbers and decimals and stuff. But I just looked at the Channel 5 site and, sure enough, that's their forecast. Guess only time will tell if their wild prediction was an irresponsible overreaction or a public service.

That was my reaction when I first saw it also. Then I went there and saw the "hour-by-hour" accumulation...unreal

i will be riding my snowmobile all throughout town tomorrow night and sat am..perfect riding no one will be out :D

the worcester numbers are out of the airport which is high elevation and usually gets the most but who knows

Best wishes guys. We've been blasted with strange weather and some massive bush fires down this way the past couple of months. Keep safe.

Yep, this is true in Ohio too. As well as most of the northern US.

this is called a sprinkling of snow up here ;)

stay safe down there.

That's probably close to the truth. I moved to Mass. from the Midwest 24 years ago. It still boggles my mind how wimpy New Englanders are about weather -- especially driving when it's snowing or raining.

I'm right on the edge of 42 and 20 inches. So I'll go with 27 inches, unless the storm goes wide left. But it could hit the upright and fall through.:scared:

We have had 45 inches from Oct through Jan, most of it sticking around and we have had probably another 3-4 inches this month. i don't mind the snow. Makes for good snowmobiling :singing:. Its the occasional -40 F that I can't stand :bricks:

This storm is going to be Legen wait for it....DARY!!! Its a 976 bomb. Once it phases and bombs out, it will retrograde. SNE including my area of SW CT could be seeing up to 2-3 inches per hour. We may see more snow than what they are predicting. Be safe everyone!!

This comes about two weeks too late. . . . :(

Take care.

Edited to add: here's the latest model:

A bit less pessimistic.

Northeast CT...looking like 20-25 inches.

Now watch, we'll end up with 3.
