I know plenty here don't have much use for Mike Florio. Personally, I don't mind him on Pro Football Talk TV Hour. Either way, here Florio uses his pulpit on a national NFL website to lay into Lewis for his absurd comments during that softball interview pre-SB with Shannon Sharpe, and give Lewis the opportunity to come clean. I don't Florio's holding his breath waiting for an answer; though to avoid the stench he may have had to ...

Ray Lewis once again dances around issue of Super Bowl XXXIV murders | ProFootballTalk

lewis is a scum bag. You don't settle with the families if you didn't do anything..this isn't a positive PED test here.....

While I agree he's a scumbag, lets not be naive. Plenty of innocent people have settled before if they think there was a legitimate risk the evidence would point to them being guilty. It's just more likely for the guilty.

Anyways, Lewis is, as you stated, a scumbag. I'm sick of hearing how much of a hero he is. Instruction of justice, assisted murder, and a recording of him admitting to PEDs. I'm sure he was completely jacked up on them but will never get tested, and knew he wouldn't get tested. I would love to have him tested and have a big fat asterisk on the Ravens title. I mean, if he has nothing to hide, why not submit to it?

I also love every time the Patriots beat the Ravens it's because of the refs; and all they do is complain about it in the postgame(they wouldn't have made the playoffs this year if not for the refs), but everytime the Ravens manage to beat the Patriots (3-7 all time?) it's them showing who is boss and being champions and professionals and the Patriots are classless while Ravens players take cheap shots at Patriots players and the organization from the safe sanctity of having won the game. Meanwhile Patriots players do nothing but praise the Ravens win or lose.

Also the Ravens fans are sooo hilariously stupid. I had to delete two friends on facebook because they posted all over my wall how it's "real Ravens football" to knock a player out and celebrate over him as he lays motionless on the ground. And one of them threatened to "take me to the street" if I didn't concede Lewis was innocent.

Then you have Art Modell, the biggest scum bag since... I really can't think of anyone.

Classless organization, classless idiotic players, classless idiotic fans. Just a complete joke of a franchise.

I agree. Guy is a piece of crapola and I never bought his bs. I'm glad someone confronted him and was surprised that it was dunce boy Sharpe.

"To Esiason,Florio and Toomer I commend you. To Sharpe, I know you hated asking that question and probably had a hard time doing it. But it was probably the one single thing you've done in broadcasting that was relatively decent. You probably should of dug deeper and went A Few Good Men on him and got him to admit his part in the murders. But his dumb ass response for the whole world to hear what an insane hyprocrite he really is was good enough."

What otherwise may be a very highly respected organization is looked at as an organization full of thugs by many NFL fans. If it weren't for Lewis (Suggs is no prize either) then I wouldn't have been rooting so damn hard for the 49ers on Sunday. The only Raven that I am actually pretty happy for is John Harbaugh.

Best piece Florio has ever written.

Nikolai likes this.

I also notice that the vast majority of comments tend to praise Florio for posting this. It restores my faith in NFL fandom a bit.

Such settlements happen with some frequency. It usually involves a corporation, but the idea is basically the same.

I know, but it just one of the many points like lying to the police that night..suit magically disappears ect

Exactly, DI....puts closure on an already settled court case. You know this was all the idea of his lawyers.

The bizarre thing is that it is HE,Ray Lewis himself, who continues to try to pry the door open wide again on this incident with his ridiculous "God's will" statements.

But the saddest thing ever was that a man looked me in my face and told me, ‘We know you didn’t do this, but you’re going down for it anyway.’” (Actually, something much closer to “the saddest thing ever” is the two dead guys.)

His lawyers must have scrambled to their phones and made frantic calls to ol' Ray Ray screaming for him to shut the hell up...he just can't stop, though and THAT is where we get a good glimpse of his pathology...that of a savage sociopath.

Lying to the police is stupid. The smart play is not to talk to them at all, beyond "Here's my lawyer's card" and "I need to make some phone calls". Martha Stewart can explain the "why" to those who don't accept my advice.

I am happy for Ihedigbo more than any other Raven.....I believe he gave his all here when called in to play safety when injuries mounted and he did a decent job considering he has severe limited talent at the pro level.

Just give Ray Lewis a section on this forum already. It's bad enough he's everywhere in the media, but nobody on here can go 3 minutes without mentioning him in a post or thread. Hop off his tip.

Does anyone else feel like Ray Lewis uses religion as an attempt to mask his true character?

"God Won't Use Murderers for His Glory", "It's simple: when God is for you, who can be against you?"

I think he portrays himself as a man of god just to seem like a decent human being.

This is a tactic used by many sociopaths to control and manipulate others. Hopefully Ray is a genuine person but I'm not buying it.

Hopefully, Ray's acolytes are not "The Following"

James Ihedigbo is rumored to be linked to the deer antler spray guy and was named as one of his clients.

If so, I'd get a truckload of the stuff and hose down our entire defensive backfield starting with Glass IR Dowling

I don't buy it either. I posted in another thread how he misquotes/misappropriates Bible verses. His recent "no weapon" bit was lifted from a passage about women who don't have children.

So, he apparently has six kids from four different women. Is he married? I don't think he is. It amazes me how his football ability seduced people into rationalizing his murder charges and the truly odd circumstances around how that case ended up. I wonder if he has deep subconscious guilt that he uses the religion to cover up.

I really believe his guilt motivated him to overachieve during his career; pushed him to be fired up every Sunday.

I know I can be like that when I'm training. Sometimes a thought that troubles me enters my mind, and suddenly I've just cranked up my workout to a different level.

I have no clue if he did it, maybe he did and he got so lucky and got away with it. But its just as more likely that things got out of hand and one of his friends did it? i dont know. what i do know is from a football perspective its been a pleasure watching him every week. I honestly thing he does a lot of amazing things. But dont throw religion in this, god allows a lot of evil things! you can go on and on with examples. about the settlement for me if i was at the club and things got out of hand and someone got stabbed and i was in the middle of it but didnt kill anyone and if i had money you bet i would give some to the families.
