Not necessarily just those that could be a benefit to the Patriots.

The Lions waste no time in cutting WR Titus Young, disgruntled 2011 2nd round pick (#44). 5'11", 4.53 40 time.

Lions waste no time in parting ways with Titus Young | ProFootballTalk

Young was suspended for most of his sophomore season at Boise State after a fight with a teammate. Additionally, Young was passed upon by many teams during the NFL draft due to widely being considered a character risk. In May 2012, the Detroit Lions sent Young home after he sucker-punched Louis Delmas. In November 2012, the Detroit Lions again sent Young home and did not play him in the annual Thanksgiving day game due to conduct detrimental to the team. According to Lions coaches, Young purposefully lined up in the wrong position twice and got into a verbal confrontation with receivers coach Shawn Jefferson.[3][4] On December 5, 2012, after keeping Young out of the previous game and away from the team facility, the Lions placed Young on Injured Reserve, ending his eligibility to play for the rest of the 2012 season. To express his frustration, Young tweeted about not wanting to play anymore if he does not get the ball.[5]

Sounds like a GREAT FIT for the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets! :rocker:

kid is a punk...pure and simple..not the randy moss type. Do.Not. Want.

Titus Young ran a 4.43 at one point.

I'm not sure where you got your numbers from as they obviously vary, but I went to NFL draft scout.

As soon as you google "Titus Young 40 yd dash time" 4.43 seconds comes up in multiple websites, although to your defense he did run as low as a 4.55 at one point during multiple runs...I don't know the general protocol as to whether or not they tend to tail off, but it seems like he does have some decent speed.

The Titus Young cut was expected. The blood bath in the Jets' organization that will come within the next week or two will be expected. I am waiting for the surprises.

Steelers RB Chris Rainey is also now available on waivers.

Great thread PBPF. We need decent threads in these off season doldrums times.

Looking into the discrepancy, he ran an official 4.53 at the combine but unofficial 4.43. Ran a 4.4 at his pro-day.

Trust me, ignore any stats or speed that Titus Young has put up. The guy is a complete idiot. The Lions lost both Burleson and eventually Broyles this year. Instead of stepping up into the number two role the idiot just complained until the Lions got sick of it.

I'm putting Young firmly in the "lost cause" category.

From the thread title I thought, "Not another Ray Lewis thread!"

They should definitely bring this kid in for a look, if they can get him.

The bengals have been looking for someone to complement BJGE. I wonder if they put in a waiver claim on him.

They'd be smart to do it. The kid's just a 5th round pick, so the money's low. The two "prior incidents" that got brought up by Florio are nothing of substance (DWLS that got straightened out and a trespass for violating a self-imposed casino banning.

If he can play now that he's gotten some NFL time under his belt, he'll be a steal. If he sucks, or he acts up again, you're just cutting a minimum, or near-minimum, salary.

When will Rainey get on the field for us if we signed him. Ridley's our primary runner. Bolden seems like he might be his backup. Vereen is ready to take that 3rd down back from Woodhead. Oh, we have Demps to back-up Vereen and return kicks.

Camp competition....

If he can't find a spot, cut him loose.

camp fodder that could show something in preseason......so we can trade him ...you know how BB loves his late round picks :)

Hard to trade players that clubs pretty much know you're gonna cut
