Assuming you're like most folks on this board and will be rooting either against the Ravens or for the Niners or both, are you willing to watch the game with Ravens fans?

Do you like the mixed crowd experience?

I think most people aren't that particular about this and will go with the flow. Some enjoy having fans of the other team in the room and the natural back and forth that develops.

Me, I'm a little nutty. Ever since I watched the Red Sox-Mets Game 6 in 1986 with a mixed crowd...and Mets fans went nuts at my house at the end of the game...well, I just don't like watching games with "enemy" fans.

So at Casa Darryl Stingley, Ravens fans are not invited. Niners only.

What say you?

My usual crowd is very apathetic regarding this year's game. I may go to a friend's place for a change. But to answer your question, if the Pats were playing, no opposing fans. It ends up ugly for someone. With a game like this, i doubt very much I'll have any die hard fans one way or the other.

I'll be rooting pretty hard against the Ravens but wont feel anything for the Niners if they win.

I don't know if that makes me a die hard. I do know that I can't be around Ravens fans.

Coincidentally am flying to NOLA this afternoon, and have to change planes in Baltimore.. apparently to load on a whole bunch of Ravens Fans...

Will have to suck this up, as will probably sharing space with them. As long as they do not get into a diatribe about how great Ray Lewis is, that would give me air sickness...

Thank god for my ipod..

I am not watching the Superbowl this year, who f..ing cares.

You'd have to be out'f your mind to watch this one with Ravens Fans.

...or sadistic...and possibly masochistic.

There'd always be the chance ~ whether Baltimore wins its 3rd or not ~ that they drop the word "SpyGate" at some point in the Evening.

And if that happens, somebody's face is getting transformed from convex...to concave.

Oh there's a game this weekend? Did not know

Cant always work out like this but I am pretty good at working it so it does. But I pretty much only like to watch my sports with a select few of die hards that are all home town Boston fans. Occasionally a few non-diehards but still Boston fans will get into the mix and very rarely have I or will I watch with the enemy. Of all the diehard fans I usually watch with only one is not from the area but he has lived here for awhile and adopted our teams except that the Cowboys will always be his number one team (he grew up just outside Irving).

We went to the Cowboys game in Dallas together in 07 and he took the loss well but it took some fun out of it for me because I had to temper my enthusiasm after the game as I didnt want to rub it in. I just kept saying to him that we would see them again in Febuary too bad it didnt work out like that because we would have killed them and all would be right.

We are headed to a huge party here in Denver. Mostly Donks fans. I'm sure there will be annoying Niners and Ravens fans there too. We are going to drink and eat and watch the game in that order of priority. It will be interesting to see if the crowd is cheering one way or the other.

I won't be watching the Super Bowl this year. Nothing about this game interests me, with the possible exception of hearing about who won and lost on the news later that evening.

i will watch of course...but alone..no party like i usually throw when i was back in college..everyone lives too far away now

With two guys from the Bay Area... gonna get loud with them probably, and possibly drive them home if they lose.

Always go to a big Super Bowl party with a mixed crowd. A lot more fun

I have nothing more than a passing interest in the Superbowl this year. I'll be in the office pretending to run a business (or something like that).

my daughter and i will be doing our taxes together and watching out of the corners of our eyes. go niners !!!

All of are rooting against Ravens!!! Go 49ers

You guys are really planning to skip the SB this year? I was only half joking with my bitter post, but I'm still definitely going to watch. It's a HUGE win IMO if Baltimore comes up short, this is likely the last run they have in them. I'd totally love if that team can't win one before their window closes. So I'd say there is a major rooting interest here and I'll be watching.

As scary as SF looks for the future, for some reason that team could win 10 super bowls and it wouldn't bother me one bit. I feel like I have nothing against seeing them win unlike most teams.

I am with you Patsy on both counts.

Not sure how anyone can be a big enough fan to join a messageboard and not watch the game on its biggest stage between 2 of its best teams (even if you want to claim its not the two best they are certainly 2 of the best)?

Also I hold no ill will toward the 49ers and other than the total Lombardi trophey race (which we are pretty far off of) there is no real reason not to like them.

When I was a kid I didnt really like the niners but that was out of jealousy now that we have 3 titles of our own I could care less.

People who say they aren't watching the Super Bowl because they "aren't interested" are huge babies.

How can you be a fan of football and not want to see this game?

Answer: you can't.

You got me.
