Curran: Marshall Faulk not over being cheated out of Super Bowl victory

Who cares? Faulk can put it on his tombstone, as far as I'm concerned.

The fact that Faulk (and Kurt Warner) continue to bring this up speaks volumes about flaws in their character and an inability to accept reality. Eleven years later and he still has not accepted the defeat, instead focusing on a need to justify why he and his team did not win with a whiny excuse is pathetic. For them to hold on to this, for this long is pitiful, and an indication that both are in dire need of psychological help.

I agree...it makes it almost comical. He comes off really whinny considering that what he is claiming has no basis in reality.

You know how to tell you are the best team in pro football? When its the superbowl, you're not in it, and they still find a way to talk about you.

How does this fat faced, pre-pubescent, California raisin look-a-like figure he was cheated? Because he was de-cleated a few times coming off the LoS? Because of unsubstantiated reports that we taped their walk-through? Get over it, Marshall. You lost. Deal with it.

Exactly...Warner too. I remember before that game he was speculating on how winning 5 Super Bowls sounded about right to him, that's how many the Rams would probably end up winning during their run.

Heh.

What ticks me off more than Faulk's statements are that guys like Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk are in a position to comment on the allegation with facts, and yet they always fall short.

For example, Florio comments that the allegations of taping a walk-through were "never substantiated".

Ummm... go a bit further there, Mike. Those allegations were RETRACTED by the rag paper that made them.

My blood boils this morning when i first read all this crap.
If i have one complaint about the pats is the absolute miserable PR job they did by not responding to any of it. They dont care for the national media or what they say and its understandable but pats fans have to keep hearing this forever. Its the unfortunate truth.

As time passes, the one thing I lament is the poor PR job that this team has done on these types of issues.. they just take what these twitter loving jackazzes put out there.

The Pats should have refuted Spygate and refuted this crap.. as much as I respect BB, this is one thing that I wish he would change..

Yeah, right, Pats must have taped that special Marshall Faulk kick return plan and that's why he went out of bounds untouched at the 6. Way to be accountable.

I saw this earlier and thought the comment about "the Rams only got into the Red Zone once — and they scored a touchdown" was pretty funny. Too lazy to look up if it's true, but it's funny.

I don't think it's funny. This man has brain damage. Why is no one willing to step in and help him before he hurts himself or someone else? It's obvious he is delusional and full of paranoia.

Watch out. The band of homers around here aren't going to like that one. But you're right. This is something that Belichick should have set straight right from the get go.

These guys and the haters who parrot them only make themselves look stupid when they assert that the Patriots 2001 Super Bowl is tainted because they broke a 2006 rule in 2007.

"I know, in that game, in the red zone, the plays we ran, most of them we hadn't ran most of those plays that year," Faulk noted. "And a couple of plays on third down that we walked through also . . . Any time that I was offset, I was always stationary. And we had creating motioning in the backfield at the same depth on the other side of the field. And they created a check for it. It's just little things like that. It's either the best coaching in the world when you come up with situations that you had never seen before. Or you'd seen it and knew what to do."

The rams didnt reach the redzone until late in the 4th. what happened before that? I hate these blanket statements . And of course no one will respond from the pats leaving fans to keep responding.

Wrong guy.
I blame Kraft for this. He's known for his low profile negotiator compromise for the good of the league style. I'm sure he told BB to zip it. Worse yet, BB is awful as a spokesperson on those kinds of issues. He cannot control his disdain, disrespect and sarcasm so he does the right thing and says nothing. You're asking a pig to fly.

I'm still pissed at Kraft's hands off on this issue. Pats PR professionals needed to be tasked with formulating a message and correcting the total fabrications that exist to this day.

Every year there are three teams in the SB AFC Champs/NFC Champs and then there are the PATS who everybody wants to talk about even if they donot make the SB

Ironically, many are Steelers fans. Of course, they will tell you that steroid use by the 70s Steelers was okay because steroids weren't outlawed until the 80s. They have no problem believing that a memo issued in 2006 is retroactive, though.

This is what I wrote on these comment section of PFT -

" I know for a fact that Marshall Faulk is a wife beater and pedophile.

What? What proof do I have?

I didn't know that I needed any. I thought you could make unproven, salacious accusations, and Florio would publish them if he thought they'd get him hits. Have I been misinformed? lol
"
Such a load of crap. BTW- I'm pretty sure that my post has been deleted. If you say ANYTHING that is even remotely critical of Florio on one of his writers, they will delete it. However anything anti-Patriot or pro-Steelers will be highlighted.
