According to the Philadelphia Enquirer, Sports Illustrated has obtained a recording that shows that Lewis was given a banned substance to recover from his torn tricep:

David Epstein and George Dohrmann write that S.W.A.T.S. owner Mitch Ross recorded a phone conversation with Lewis after the linebacker's injury in October.

Hours after he tore his triceps during an Oct. 14 home game against the Cowboys, Ravens All-Pro linebacker Ray Lewis and Ross connected on the phone. Again, Ross videotaped the call.

On the call, the two allegedly discuss the treatment that Lewis would undergo in order to return to the field as quickly as possible.

Ross prescribed a deluxe program, including holographic stickers on the right elbow; copious quantities of the powder additive; sleeping in front of a beam-ray light programmed with frequencies for tissue regeneration and pain relief; drinking negatively charged water; a 10-per-day regimen of the deer-antler pills that will "rebuild your brain via your small intestines" (and which Lewis said he hadn't been taking, then swallowed four during the conversation); and spritzes of deer-antler velvet extract (the Ultimate Spray) every two hours.

"Spray on my elbow every two hours?" Lewis asked.

"No," Ross said, "under your tongue."

Toward the end of the talk, Lewis asked Ross to "just pile me up and just send me everything you got, because I got to get back on this this week."

The deer-antler spray contains IGF-1, which is on the NFL's list of banned substances. Christopher Key - one of the S.W.A.T.S. guys - described the company's products to a group of Alabama football players before the BCS National Championship in 2012. He recorded the conversation.

Suspend him, take a first rounder from the team, fine the organization a half a mil, and declare the pats AFC champions. LOL.

PS: I dont really think this but this is what the world thought after spygate and I do think PEDs is worse then Spying (or at least just as bad).

I wonder how the SpyGate SoapBoxers like Peter King will handle this one.

And no matter what, I LOVE that this is a vehicle for dispelling the completely BS story line that Ray Lewis is some kind of hero.

He's a phony, a murderer, a cheater and a self-promotor.

His ridiculous dance before games would is something I could not abide if a Pats player ever did anything like it.

He's not why the Pats lost the AFC Champ game. And unlike the ridiculous fans of other teams who wanted game results reversed, I'm not calling for that.

But Lewis is scum and the public buys him being some kind of saint, and it's truly a joke and sickening.

True, seething hatred for this clown.

(And true reverence and respect for Ed Reed).

We all know where this is going - nowhere. Just imagine for a moment if it were Brady. In fact there would members here who would be orgasmic.

It'll only be fair if this becomes a huge story and distraction before the SB. Let someone else go through the crap we had to endure before SB42, and that story wasn't even ****ing true! C'mon media do your jobs

they wont. it will be swept under the rug as usual when its a non-pats story.

such BS.....

Lets go SF49!!

Word is he killed the deer himself and the hunting clothes he was wearing have gone missing.

Deer Antler Spray???

Holographic stickers???

I'd have thought this was something cooked up by The Onion, if there wasn't an actual link to go to. Weird.

But there's a banned substance, though. Big no no, Ray.

But, then, it's not the Patriots, so nothing to see here, right? :bricks:

If you're recovering from an injury like Rodney Harrison I really have a hard time coming down on these guys. I find Lewis to be a fraud and awful human being but to remain consistent I can't kill him for this. I look at all the ACL tears and how quickly players are coming back. Do people think this isn't happening with the help of banned substances? I think they're using them almost for certain and that includes Wes and Tom. I have no issue with it in those cases. It's much different than Merriman stacking 8 different steroids and HGH to gain a competitive advantage.

I do agree that the national media needs to be consistent and kill Lewis like they did Rodney.

Doesnt the same logic apply to taping signals. Did other teams do it? Please refer to my sig. The PATS are still treated by the media as if they were the only team doing it. The same should be done to Ray Lewis.

This really is the cover of Sports Illustrated this week.

Its not at least for now. I heard this on the radio on the HUB when I was grabbing my lunch. On my way home HUB was on comercial so I switched to EEI and they were not talking about and were talking football. Then I expected to read about it on ESPN but nothing.

Personally, I think most or at least a large number of players do it. I am sure Lewis didn't just find this guy out of the blue. Personally, I don't even care.

My only beef is the hypocrisy of the media and fans on these things. Rodney was blasted because he is a Patriot and already labeled a dirty player. Ray Ray will likely get a free pass because the media love him and the fans seem to ignore the little murder thing and think he is wonderful guy.

Nobody ignores the "murder thing"--some people just realize that a person's whole life is not defined by whether his friends decide to stab someone in the middle of a brawl. Ray seems to be a mixed bag, like all other people. Oh and by the way, almost everyone in the NFL is on something illegal at one time or another, it is just more accepted than it is in baseball.

The focus on the Pats is a COMPLIMENT. If the Lions did it, no one would care. The Pats are singled out because of their long running dominance that practically every fanbase envies, and thus tries to tear them down.
