Good read. Some of the stuff here really resonated with me. I am as guilty as many others for glorifying this dude.

Ray Lewis’ glory story is haunted by killings - City & Region - The Buffalo News

“How can somebody help commit a murder and people praise him for playing a game?” said Faye Lollar, Richard’s aunt, who attended the trial in Atlanta. “They’re chanting and giving him the glory. For what? I believe he was involved with it just as much as everybody else.”

Lewis admitted that he lied to police officers when they originally questioned him. He refused to give up the names of those at the grisly scene, hindering the investigation from the start.

The cream-colored suit Lewis described wearing that night – not white as commonly reported – never has been found. He claimed to have forgotten what happened to it. Baker’s blood was found in the Lincoln Navigator limousine Lewis had rented to drive from Baltimore to Atlanta, and investigators believed they would have found more blood on Lewis’ clothes.

As for the street fight, Lewis insisted he was a peacemaker who tried to usher his friends into the limousine so they could drive away.

Witnesses gave police statements that incriminated Lewis, but during the trial, their testimonies became vague.

Limousine driver Duane Fassett told police he saw Lewis punch one of the victims, but testified Lewis only drew a fist and didn’t actually strike anyone.

Jeff Gwen, an aspiring rapper friend of Baker and Lollar, told police he saw Lewis remove an expensive necklace before joining the fray and throwing punches. But at the trial, Gwen stated that Lewis merely held onto somebody to help quell the scene.

Chester Anderson, a convict who claimed to be a witness, testified that he saw Lewis kick a man who was on the ground. The jury didn’t find Anderson credible.

The jury returned not-guilty verdicts after five hours of deliberating. Five jurors spoke to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution after the trial and revealed their frustrations about the case.

Multiple jurors said they wanted to convict, but the way the indictment was written limited their ability to find guilt and District Attorney Paul Howard didn’t deliver evidence promised in his opening remarks.

“Everybody walked,” Wilson said. “But you know what we did? We brought Jacinth home, and we buried him.

I wish the Drama Queen pulls a muscle or something doing the stupid dance before the SB and then has to see his team lose while sitting on the bench and faking emotions as always

How am I not suprised this happened in Atlanta. The fake compton of the south
"Tagliabue also ruled that Lewis will be fined another $250,000 and be subject to suspension if he violates any of the terms of his 12-month probation."
GW should have just murdered other players so he would only be fined, lol.

I really hope the ravens get blown out. Flacco's "Im the best in the NFL" and Lewis in disney world will just annoy me.
…….assuming the astroid thing doesn't happen…God we're willing to take one for most fans..just leave Deja Vu Showgirls on bourbon street, and a decent sandwich shop please.

The more I think about it, the more Ray's act -- and the fact so many folks have fallen for it -- really creeps me out.

We all know the story. Is it necessary to continue digging this up and starting multiple threads now the Ravens are in the Superbowl?

Lewis isn't the first prominent person in society to be involved in some sort of cover up.

I think people are just mad, as I am, that hes being seen a good guy, and desurving a SB. I shining symbal of the NFL. When in reality hes a fake murdering gutter thug that should not be playing. People are just venting. Im happy for the vent thread, lol. Its been in my mind since the NFL started this Love Ray campaign.

I don't disagree with any of the statements most people have been making pherein but there's a new topic on Ray Lewis almost daily. People wonder why he gets so much exposure. Well, this is why.

Your right ausbacker, and Im to blame also. I just love the chance to bash this man. Im sure the threads will disapear after the SB, but god help you if Ravens win, lol.
We have a few on our site to.

Sounds like a whole bunch of extremely crappy prosecutorial and police work, if they were relying on witnesses who changed their story on the witness stand and others who were not credible to the jury.

He may be lucky to have "got off" but some of the bad feelings should be directed at those who thought that they had a case before they really did, and blew it.

Threads like this help balance the ledger somewhat, though. Lewis is getting too much praise for the wrong reasons.

He reminds me of those criminal fake tv preachers...they're giving God a really bad name. Shame on them.

Sorry, but I don't see it this way. Ray Lewis is living a lie and is a complete fraud by the way he runs around and makes a spectacle of himself and dupes all of the idiots that buy into his facade. If he just played the game and stayed out of the spotlight trying to remain humble knowing how phucking lucky he is not be wearing prison orange then I could live with the fact that he bought his way out of trouble like many others in his position, BUT he doesn't and his act is disgusting and so isn't the media for propping him up the way they do. I hope him and the ravens get utterly embarrassed in the Superbowl and walking off the field as a loser is the last thing he remembers as an NFL player.

I'm not disagreeing with you. What I am saying is do we need a new thread every time a new article is printed and why weren't these articles out in force all the time?

Personally, a Ray Lewis is a **** (if people feel that way) Megathread would be my preference.

Great point, maybe the fans are not at fault for posting so many threads. Its Lewis's fake actions that demand it.

I hear you. It can be a bit redundant, but with a D-Bag like Ray Lewis, I personally feel it can't be overstated enough of what a fraud he is.
