Jets to explore trading Darrelle Revis

As I said in the other thread... Hernandez for Revis.

(Gronk is off-limits!)

The team is using 2013 as a year for cap and budgetary housecleaning, to get situated for the future. It stands to reason that come 2014, both Revis and head coach Rex Ryan, are gone.

As Pats fans, I think that's the worst possible thing to hear. If the Jets tank in 2013 to clear out salary and get a good pick, then they could actually be good in 2014. I'd much prefer the Tannenbaum strategy of bandaiding the salary cap every year.

He's no Talib..

Yes. Revis is far better.

28yrs old in 2013 season. If Jets trade him, they want a #1 round draft pick.

I would not mind giving up our #1.

But, Revis will probably want a 4+ year contract for at least 10m/yr.

I'd do a 4yr contract, but for 8-9m/yr. But that's me.

Talib is 27yrs old in 2013 season. He probably wants at least 7m/yr.

I don't see them trading him within the division.

They'll have the worst roster at that point and a bottom 5 owner

I'm not going to read the article, but I will assume it comes down to money. Which might have not been as large a problem if Rexy wasn't shooting his mouth off right when Revis' contract was up.

We should offer something. I don't know what his contract is like besides being a lot of money, but man...just imagine. I highly doubt the Jets would deal with us just on principle, but still might as well take a shot.

That was sarcasm my dude..

Right, but they'd be candidates for the first overall pick plus whatever they get for trading Revis, and they'd have a ton of cap room if they truly do use this year to dump some bad contracts. They'd be able to find enough talent to be mildly annoying.

The Jets would never trade Revis to the Patriots. Come back off of fantasy island.

I always trust in Woody Johnson making the wrong move.

Oddly enough, even without Revis, the Jets still had the #2 ranked pass defense in the NFL last season.

bye bye revis..and he's not being traded within the division..that would just be stupid...maybe denver after the champ bailey debacle

this is the most logical thing to do for the jets .Get some picks and rebuild cheap and save some cap space.I hope they dont do it.

What you are saying is if a team gave up all their players and stunk, they might get good later. That scares you?

this is discussion board bingo. Dont take it too seriously.

Ok dude, I really didn't take it seriously that the Jets would ever trade Revis to the Patriots. Just bringing a little reality into the "discussion".

Really? People actually believe in their minds that the Jets are going to trade Revis to us? The only way that would happen is if we gave them Brady and BB in return..

Literally you have better chance of having a threesome with Gisele an WW wife..

They'll try to package Sanchez with Revis:)
