Was wondering what you guys think.

I personally do not really blame Brady for how he played against the Ravens he doesn't really have the weapons without Gronkowski in. He was a bit gun shy stepping in throws but I probably would be too if all my passes were getting dropped and people weren't finishing routes (Hernandez on that deep bomb).

Now with the rumors that BB wants to win a SB without Brady do you think he gives Brady and extension or do you think they part ways after this contract.

I hope he gets an extension because it helps our cap situation and he needs to retire a Patriot. Quite honestly Brady at 70% is better than anything we'll see for a while.

Doesn't Brady have two years left on his current deal? He will be 38 and could very well be done by then. Not to mention I think the day Brady retires is the day Belichick retires.

Enjoy him while he lasts

All depends on Brady, really. I don't foresee this happening but there are two possibilities that would end his stay here in New England...

1) Abruptly decides to retire. Given his stated desire to play until he's 40 (I think?), unlikely but still a possibility.

2) Abruptly drops off the cliff talentwise. He keeps himself in shape but his fastball can go at any second. Again, unlikely.

Those are the only two reasons I would expect Brady not to retire a Patriot.

I think 2 more years is long enough......extending beyond that would put the pats in an unworkable situation if he stopped being able to contribute.

he should retire after these next 2 years regardless of how well he is playing. he should get out while still in one piece, dump gisele and get it on with lindsey vonn

Sources say Belichick is staying beyond Brady so don't count on it Bills fan :D

Says who? The people on this board with inside information?

Had this discussion yesterday, former Titans safety Blaine Bishop said he thinks both Brady and Manning walk after next year, short of it was I think Manning is gone before Brady. I just can't seeing an abruptly walking away before 40. I don't see any reason for him to not get an extension to finish his time here.

I'd much rather have you guys with Belichick and no Brady than with Brady and no Belichick.......

When Brady retires there will be a parade through the streets of Buffalo.... :D

I also think if he decides he is done in 2, that these 2 will be an exit in a blaze of glory exactly the way elway did.......finish strong, and walk away

although it would be nice for him to negotiate some kind of pay cut to help facilitate the process of signing mike wallace and and maybe ryan clady to replace vollmer

If Belichick is staying beyond Brady, I don't see him going out of his way to damage the team's cap situation just for Brady.

I think he signs for 2 more years this off-season to free up cap space to help retool the team.

Greg Bedard's sources

And the media's sources are gospel, right? John Tomase says hello.
I will never forget the damage his sources caused this franchise. I have not trusted the media since then, NONE OF THEM.

Of course he should be extended. Hes the best in the business.

With that said, the team does need to make sure if his play deteriorates drastically, that his cap hit and the teams long-term financial commitment do not cause long term damage. Hes not getting any younger.

3) The Pats trade Brady after the 2013 season for a king's ransom to a team like the Cowboys. Jerry would do it for a real chance at a SB. The Pats then use the ammunition to trade up for Bridgewater or Manziel.

There are plenty of nutty scenarios that could happen, it is BB.

Yes, trading Brady is not one of them.

WW signing the tender and trading him is a very real possibility.

I'd even speculate that they were thinking about it at this time last year.

The Colts gave the middle finger to Peyton Manning at age 36 for a QB prospect that doesn't come around often. Bridgewater/Manziel are on the level of Luck/RGIII. Brady will be 37 after the 2013 season. You can't rule anything out.

The Colts could've kept Peyton, traded down from #1 for a ton, and built a powerhouse for Manning's last few years.

Well he has to share a chunk of blame, as he does the praise. He didn't lead the team, and the entire team including him mailed it in, not sure what to say, but he certainly can't be excused as he has consistently done better with worse.

The Colts owed PM a $25m check, had Andrew Luck waiting and needed to rebuild everwhere. Different set of circumstances entirely.

The only way Brady retires at the end of this contract is if he gets another ring on his finger before his contract expires. If the Pats don’t get to the big game and win it, in the next two seasons, Brady will have two options left:

1. Retire – an unlikely scenario given his wish to play until he’s 40 (at least).
2. Re-sign with the Pats at a reduced pay for another 2-3 years.

Somehow I don’t see Brady playing for another team. I think he’d rather take a pay cut and end his career as a Patriot under BB’s command, than go humiliate himself for a jacka$$ like Jerry Jones.

Knowing Brady, he will want to go out in a bang. Either with a ring, or at the worst case – as a Patriot.
