So is Gronkowski ELITE?

I hope I'm wrong, but from the first time I saw him play I said that I thought he would have a Earl Campbell or Mark Bavaro like career--not very long, but dominant.

Go back and watch and see how the offense got on without him yesterday and if anyone answers no to that question then they should stop watching the game of football.

Best TE in the game and may just be in the conversation for best ever already.

Vernon Davis says Hi because he's still healthy and playing! It is what it is.

VD is a very, very good TE but he is not as complete as Gronk.

Elite when on the field.

Gronk's physical presence in the redzone would have helped on Sunday and even the defense having to account for him, to draw more defenders off the other targets. Not only that, pass blocking and the run game in blocking too.

I'm over the loss, but one must wonder how the team would have done if they played up to their full potential with the physical presence of Gronkowski on the offense and Talib on the secondary. Unlucky stuff happens and injuries are part of the game.

I'm of the opinion that you can only beat who you play. Baltimore beat the Patriots. They also have good players on IR.

Yep. Seeing that the team was 1-6 in the Red Zone and got shredded for 3 2nd 1/2 passing TDs it is perfectly reasonable to wonder.

He's definitely on the top 1 list.....

Gronk is a great TE but not elite. He needs a couple more years of great production to earn that label IMHO. This O doesn't stop with Gronk. WE scored quite well without in the regular season.

Gronk is easily elite just because of the fact there is nobody even close to him. He's a complete player. You realize that if he is healthy he likely leads the NFL in receiving TDs two years in a row? Despite playing 11 games he was 3 TDs away from the league lead.

He's among only a few players that are true weapons.

When Gronk is on the field, he's the best TE in the game. Easily.

But does he need to change his style of play just a bit?

And while I get that other star TEs play on extra point units, let's keep one of our indispensable players off all special teams units.

Gronk fractured his arm during a freak accident on special teams and obtained a high ankle sprain being pulled down from behind having Pollard land on his leg.

Would you mind explaining to me how Gronk re-injuring his arm necessitates a need to change his style of play when he's landed on a recent injury and caused a secondary injury.

Define frequently? Do you mean Bob Sanders frequently? Guy played 8 season and only played 50 regular season games. Gronk has played 3 seasons and has played 43 games.

Well, Sanders always seemed good to go in the playoffs and the last 2 seasons, we have missed Gronk when we needed him most.
