It was obviously a helmet to helmet hit, isn't that a penalty??

If so the fumble would have been negated, there would have been penalty yards and the down would have been taken over..

I keep hearing how it was a clean hit, did not look all that clean to this viewer....

Helmet to helmet is only illegal on defenseless players. An RB with the ball is not defenseless.

Look -- I hate Pollard enough that I wanted to see someone do to his face what Kermit Washington did to Rudy T.

But that one was on Ridley. Pollard actually came in low and Ridley lowered his helmet right into Pollard's.

Can someone explain to me why in Goodell's Pansy Football League, it's ok to show an injury highlight reel of Pollard?

i wish my team had pollard, dude is a destroyer

I thought helmet-to-helmet was on ANY play?

Unnecessary roughness is the one that changes based on whether or not they're defenseless, right?

Nope. A runner is not defenseless.

I guess I'll leave the rest of that statement out since it seems to confuse people.

Theres no helmet to helmet penalty on the running back. It's only to protect Wide Receivers catching the ball. The runner can spear the defenders with his helmet as well. Like it or not it's the rule =/

I thought it was incredibly poor judgment not to rule the player down on the field, if the ball landed near Ridley and there was a pile on him, in his condition it could have been a very serious neck/spine injury.

An unconscious player going down with the ball should be ruled dead on the field. It needs to be a new rule next year. I know the Patriot's have benefited from it at times, but if player safety is really as important as we want to believe it is, it does need to be blown dead.

The pats lost because they got out-played not because of the refs, stop Crying like Brady!!!

Its amazing how many clean-hit injuries this convict gets away with..................

Where there's smoke there's fire

real question is how does Welker dro that pass when 3 plays before makes a diving play with pollard spearing his face off.

he was probably thinking about pollard hitting him if he caught it

OMG, I "liked" a troll. See what this team is doing to me. Somebody please kill me! :attention:

Agreed, stop crying stop making excuses.......the Patriots got punched in the mouth and couldn't recover.

The offense played "not to lose". They never showed any killer instinct and never took it to the Ravens suck defense. They played NOT to make a mistake.

The Patriots didn't lose because of the refs....

...but they sure as hell didn't help.

This thread should probably go to the 'football questions' stickie? I don't know I don't care I'm just depressed. They kicked our ass, they deserved to win, we got spanked and the Ravens will put up a better fight against the 49ers frankly.

Exactly. The play was on Ridley, as I saw it. If anything, he put his helmet into that son of a ***** Pollard's helmet. I think Pollard is pond scum, but not for that play.

i guess the same way he dropped the pass in last year's SB. he made a mistake. he's a great player who doesn't make many mistakes, but he's certainly had bad timing on his last two big ones.

I wish pats had signed Pollard when they had a chance. That's like 2 super bowls now he's cost them.
