wild card games, divisional games, AFC Championship Game, Super Bowl....these weeks

I remember these Weeks restaurants as a kid, nice sundaes...Does that count? :D

I will be drinking myself to sleep by dawn.. hopefully sleep all day to avoid the pre game anxiety.

I take this wayyyyyyy too personally.

Oh, it's personal.

dont know about any of you, but i just cant sleep during AFC Championship Week (nor super bowl week). need some of my homemade pike estates to get me to bed...anybody with me on this?
Ive been drinking ever since the loss to the giants in the 07 SB. :(

I know a lot of people are against it, but I've found that the consumption of cannabis can help me sleep more than Benadryl or melatonin ever could. Posting this was probably pretty stupid and broke a forum rule, so if you're a mod and that's true, my apologies.

Why are a lot of people against it? Latest polls show >50% support for legalization. But if it makes you feel better, call it "aromatherapy", that's what my vaporizer says.

But nothing I take or do allows me to sleep well the night before a game, something compounded by the game starting (in this case) at 6.30 AM and often 1.30 or 4.30 AM. Sleep is overrated anyway.

For these big playoff games, there's always a part of me that wishes I could take one of them Michael Jackson sleeping pills and wake up when it's over.

In reality I actually tend to drinking water during the big games; must be a getting-older thing.

So many epiphanies for me lately ... Like, the low from losing far outweighs the high from winning -- especially in the playoffs. Why do we do this?

Because you're WRONG, Brother Tuna!!

The low from losing isn't but a pimple on the @$$ of the High from WINNING, Baby!! :D :rocker:

Geez, don't feel so bad anymore. For me, its the losses. Forget sleep if the Patriots lose a game (regular season), followed by about three days of being pissed off. I remember one Sunday, the inlaws were in town and my wife had made a Sunday dinnner which was served at game time. Sorry, can't eat anything while game is on (although, beer is ok).

Alcohol and I are on a small break. I've been beating myself to death on my turbo trainer all week. Sleeping like a baby.

A very sincere. GO PATS.

I won't get into the whole Pot thing, but you've got to meet my friend Ambien. Six or seven hours sleeping like a baby and no hangover.

I know that booze helps me fall asleep, but I wake up in three or four hours, alert and possibly hung over depending on the quantity. Best way is a lot of exercise, but that's not always optimal for people.

Definitely a bit more fresh, delicious home-brew (and some commercial beer) flowing this time of year. I wouldn't trade the nervous/excitement of watching our beloved team play for yet another shot at a Super Bowl though. My liver is just going to have to take one for the team! :rocker:

I do. Had a long session last night.

I just got back from the gym and I'm ready to start again.

I resent the general tone of this thread, which ranges from "There might be something wrong with drinking too much" to "drinking is bad for you and you should do something else that's better for you"...

Makes me feel bad about my maintenance drinking program...and I don't appreciate it!

The games that royally mess with me are the stupid Sunday Night Games. Unless the Pats are blowing their opponent out, I watch right up to the bitter end (despite the horror of the ads) and then win or lose am in shambles when it comes to sleeping... And a dangerous worker and driver on Monday--add in the usual Monday Blues. I'm such a mess it begins to make no difference to my ragged soul whether we won or lost.

Glad tonite begins early and tomorrow a partial holiday.

Hi Everybody, My name is PiNY, and I admit to drinking to much on game day.

Probably be starting in a few minutes........ Will drive the wife and kids out by about 4:30 PM. I expect even the dogs will leave by about kick off. It's not something I'm proud of, but............ It is what it is. ;)

Following the Patriots is an adrenaline sport, like skydiving or Russian roulette. Of course, when things don't work out you don't end up with a bullet in your brain -- just a major kick in the ...

Deal with it how you want -- but don't whine!

As the man who helps Billdog3484 make the Pike Estates wine, i can confirm that it helps with sleeping. But last night I quit the subtle tactics and went with vodka. Still woke up early this morning. I get no sleep at all during the playoffs.

My sleeping issues occur after tough losses. After the 2007 SB I didn't sleep well for a week. Kept waking hoping it was just a bad dream. Last year was bad, but not as bad as 2007.

I hope to sleep like a baby tonight.
