Callers were very confident saying idk why pats fans are nervous, the ravens are old and tired from the denver game. Plus I heard tom e curran say on the show that he expects the score to be 34-13 pats! I mean I feel good about this game but sheesh , everyone just keeps on saying pats will win by at least 2tds. Thoughts?
Anyone feel better?

Dont think its going to be easy for pats to move the ball at least early on. D needs to hold baltimore until pats figure out the ravens.

Very confident . At least 14 points. The ravens Have had a tough time just to make it to this game.

Could our offense perform as well or better than Denver? i would hope so. Especially with a running game that gives them balance and can use the zone/wham blocking to run effectively up the middle. Though, going to the outside would help tire out the defense, the ravens still seem to be capable of covering the outside run.

We'll trust TB and McD (especially play calling) to take what is given. If we get 200 yards rushing and 240 yards passing, it could be a real bad day for Baltimore. Ideally even 130+ yards rushing should soften them up for TB to carve up the secondary.

Could be interesting to see 2 RB set with Vereen and Woodhead back there. They could use that doppelganger style to both split out wide and cause some mismatches on linebackers (ok, that's a little too crazy...maybe Hernandez and Vereen/Woodhead)

ravens wont let this be the last game of ray lewis or last chance for ed reed to get a SB ring. any score for eiter side over 3pts not gonna happen.

The Patriots offense will probably have 12 possessions. I doubt they will end up with 84 points. The point being the Patriots will have drives stall, punts, even 3 and outs. The Ravens D is definitely not a pushover (either was the Texan D). They Patriots just need to find the endzone on a third of their possessions along with a FG on one other possession (to get to 30 points or more). It's ideal if they get that trip to 30+ points started on the first drive but it isn't at all necessary.

Denver had 3 drives of near or more than 80 yards. Indy had several drives that took them somewhat near the endzone (I think Indy had 440 yards of offense with 4 drives end in FG range). Yet the Patriot offense, statistically speaking and by the eyeball test, is more potent than either of those offenses. So while anything can happen and the Ravens could find a way to shutdown or largely contain the Patriot offense, there is obvious evidence to suggest the Patriots will do just fine.

As much as I put no stock in what WEEI callers have to say, it is important that the Ravens played 188 snaps on defense the past two weeks..

Which may say something about their offense as well..

That is a lot of wear and tear..

Exactly!! The wear and tear on the Raven defense is a by product of their offense not staying on the field.

Both the Colts and the Broncos ran far more off offensive plays and both had time of possession.

This game really comes down to one thing. If Tom Brady plays well this game won't be close. If Brady stinks like he did last year (rating of 49  ) the Ravens have a shot. I think Brady is long overdue for back to back good games in the playoffs. Believe it or not that hasn't happened in years.

Well, in the Raven favor they did win those games. Without knowing the specifics, either they got lots of short fields (due to turnovers or good returns) and we know they made some quick strike drives with long passes.

Hopefully our special teams won't make them look special, but Jones was #1 average return yards. Still, i think we can sustain some long drives to grind them down for a 2nd half where we can take advantage.

I'm not sure I want to see our Defense being forced to make a stop late 4th quarter. I'd prefer to maintain a 2 score lead :)

These threads are annoying

Who cares what random callers on a radio show think
Who cares what few analysts think
Who cares if Boldin thinks the Ravens will win (Is that supposed to be a surprise?)

It doesn't mean anything at all

Some fun things to think about:

1. Ray Lewis looked spry in week 3. Svelte, he looked better than he has the last 3 years. Now he's playing with one arm.

2. Cary Williams sucks.

3. Ladarius Webb isn't out there.

4. Ngata is hurt.

5. Patriots have Aaron Hernandez back.

6. Patriots are playing at home

Some things not so fun to think about:

1. No Gronkowski

2. Hobbled Chandler Jones

3. Suggs is back, but maybe only at 80%, which is better than nothing, I guess.

4. No Edleman

Somethings I can't wrap my mind around:

1. Can Cam Cameron really be worse than Jim Caldwell? How is that even possible?

There are multiple means of avoiding annoyances which are readily available.

I am definitely not as confident as some. I believe the Pats are going to win however if they lost it wouldn't surprise me either. This is a chess match between two emotional and cerebral leaders on the field... Tom and Ray. The Ravens D ALWAYS give the Pats O fits and I don't expect it to be different this Sunday. I believe this is going to be a nail bitter to the end with the Pats D making a play to end it and sending the Pats on to their 2nd consecutive SB appearance.

I expect a win, but history tells me that this game will be a battle. The Ravens always play us that way. I think that some things favor us this time around moreso then other times, but I expect an epic battle as usual.

I suppose gauging people's interests, perceptions, and overall sentiments towards the game isn't important to you but then why waste time writing about it. Just ignore the thread.
Just wanted to make the comparison to last week when most people were hanging off the edge of their chair when the pats were going to face the texans....

I mean when you think about how the defense has changed from week 3 to now, it makes u wonder how teams didn't put up more points against us.
Mccourty with his constant pass interference calls or players walking right past arrington. I think for the first time in a long time, the pats have a complete team. The D is by no means going to shut down the Ravens but they wont let them do what they did in week 3 or in Denver last week.
One more day to go!!!! Can't wait

I disagree. I think their D has little chance of stopping our O.
I expect a 500 yard offense day.
This game could end up somewhat close, but that will take a big comeback at the end.

McCourty had 2 PI calls all season.

I'd be ok with that. :D

The Ravens aren't that great in the red zone and we're decent (on defense, the best on offense). Being able to run will be important, but even more important will be to take what they seem to be giving us.

I suppose but im so used to hearing mccourty's name whenever it is a PI. Regardless if it wasn't a PI than it was def a big gain for the opposing team because he just wasn't in position to make a play. The kid would barely turn around to see where the ball was. Anyway, he's making out to be a much better safety so that makes up for it.

Ravens fans are equally confident as well, especially with all of the "destiny" talk being shoved down their throats by the local Baltimore media and the ball-washing for a low-life, thug like Ray Lewis. I like the Pats chances, but am no where near confident that it will be a double-digit win. Until history proves otherwise, the Ravens have ALWAYS played the Pats close and given Brady fits. I'm hoping he finally comes through and sends Ray Lewis sulking into the sunset with his tail between his legs.
