Dropped 2 points today per LVH

Joe Fortenbaugh ‏@JoeFortenbaugh
The Baltimore money is pouring in. Once as high as +9.5, LVH now has the Ravens +7.5 for Sunday.

they are getting what they wanted - Baltimore money.

9.5 seemed so way too high given the history of these teams but this is simply Vegas' projection of where the money will be split.
Now I'm sure the Ravens feel disrespected by this original line but how about Atlanta!!! Home team, number 1 seed and they are 4.5 pt dogs. Has this ever happened?

agreed

If I was a betting man, I would have taken the raven at +9.5. And would have been happy if i list my money.

And yet if you had to bet the game.......

My site has it at Ravens +10 (-155) Pats -10 (+135)

Jeez move stinkin line already

Are the sharps betting Baltimore alredy? If so that's a bad sign.

What is "LVH?"

I think the thought of the line dropping "2 points today" is an absolute misconception.

I have the exact same line that I had yesterday on sportsbook.com, which is N.England -8.

Their line originally started at 9.5, but moved down to 8 as the week progressed.

If someone is offering it for 7.5 that is only a 1/2 pt difference from many of the books out there, but I can't see how it "dropped 2 points today."

If they were continuing to offer their line at -9.5 today, then either shame on them for not paying attention to the rest of the world, or they finally decided to move it accordingly. Either way, I think their whole thought is kind of misleading.

That line should continue to move. I think it's going to be an extremely close game, again.

What the hell site is that?

I wouldn't be nearly as worried about the fact that they have it up at -10 still as I would be about the fact that they have Baltimore as -155. Who the hell would want to bet -155 as a straight pointspread line?

Are you sure that isn't just another one of their options, like the option to buy an extra point or two? Are you sure that is the straight pointspread?

Something reeks here...

I said yesterday that I wouldn't be surprised if it went down to 7.5 or even 7 by gametime, but that'd be the bottom number.

Rarely does a line move multiple points like that in a matter of days. It's not like we're talking about the 2 week period in between the conference championships and the SB here, we're talking about a 5-7 day window.

The last time I was this surprised by so much one sided action was the Dec.10th game against the Houston Texans, when it went from NE-3.5 all the way up to NE-6, meaning that the sharps and the overall money moved it that high due to so much being dropped on NE.

As patjew pointed out, if this is sharps movement that may not be the best sign...

At the moment I'm going to chalk it up to the media hype, the weather (heavy winds predicted, as you know), and the fact that the line likely started out a point or so too high in many places. I'm going to take the optimistic approach.

My bookies has +8 and +300 ML.

They want to get as much Ravens action as possible before the sharps bet NE heavy on Sunday.

"the line is moving!!!! the line is moving!!!!..BAWWWWK!!!

I got 8 (-105)

Enough people are silly enough to waste their hard earned on the Ravens. Good for them.
