I posted previously about parking issues on a personal level as I have parked in P11 the last 3-4 years. For the Houston, San Fran and Miami games, P11 opened noticiably later then usual and I had to park in P10.
So to compensate yesterday I parked on Route 1 just off 495 and waited til 11:55 before heading to the stadium and upon arrival at 12:15 was able to acess P11, but others told us the lot opened at 11:30. Does a blog exist regarding parking? I'm assuming lots will open at 2:30 Sunday, but its a guessing game.

Why mess with the stadium lots? The outlying private business lots are much better.

^^^ That. I park 1 mile down on rt 1...yeah it's a hike but easy out..never traffic

And how much is stadium parking? Because we pay $30

All these years I've never understood how this works, up until a week ago. I was speaking to one of the most senior stateys who works the games. It's actually them who makes the decision when to allow the lots to open. When they see enough traffic coming, they phone the lieutenant and he makes the final call. When I spoke to this statey last week, he told me they expect more traffic early for the playoff games and therefore would be opening early. He said they would definitely be open before noon. I'll give him a call this week and ask when he's expecting to open the lots. If he gives me any info, I'll post it here.

The stadium lots are fine these days. For the last year or two I haven't spent more than 20 minutes exiting the stadium. Maybe it's because I get there early for tailgating and therefore have a better parking spot. I'm not really sure. But even this past game, I stayed to the final whistle and after a short walk to P2, less than 5 minutes later I was driving down route 1.

Yeah, I did the stadium lots both times I went this year. I always stay til the final whistle and will even hit the head before leaving the stadium. I DID wait a total of an hour between getting out of the lot and rolling on Route 1, but that beats the hell out of the 2+ hour waits I used to experience. YMMV

I went this past Sunday as well and waited on rt. 1 north right off 495 at 11:15. Waited until 11:30 and drove up to give it a shot and was shocked to see the P9 (bass pro lot) was open. We figured they were closed but gave it a shot anyways. It was a nice surprise to say the least. Will be interesting to see what they do this week.

While we are on the subject, the globe had an interesting article on Gillette Parking last week. I think this link is only open to Globe subscribers, but it is a good read if you can. Only of the interesting notes was the breakdown of parking spots: Gillette owns approx. 22,000 while there are approx. 6,500 privately owned spaces.

For businesses near Gillette Stadium, home playoff game is a blessing or a curse - Business - The Boston Globe

And note how these private lots are jacking up the prices another $10 for the playoff games

Oh I hear ya. I usually do the private lots further down the road, but I'm recovering from 14 breaks in my foot. That much walking just ain't for me yet.
