Bedard:Ninkovich picks good time for INT

And that's the kind of thing you get when you have a rocket scientist for a defensive coordinator. :D

If he's got the hands, why not give Ninko at shot at playing TE?

I've said it before, Ninko has a bit of Bruschi in his style of play

I remembered when he first got here. 90% of the forum was crucifying him. Stinkovich etc, Then he had a 2 interception game against Miami. The rest is history.

I'll probably be crucified for saying this, but while Vrabel was considerably more athletic, there isn't really much of a difference on both guys' production, when you consider the fact Mike was blessed with much better players around him that helped elevate his play. The season Ninkovich had in 2012 would rank right up there with some of Vrabel's best. For the record: I know Ninkovich plays a different position, with different responsibilities. The comparison was made because, aside from the physical resemblance, both guys' play styles are remarkably similar.

Well, Ninko was assigned as a LB, which is NOT is natural position. He would get killed covering slot receivers or TEs. He is NOT a LB. Only this year is when someone, thankfully, put him in as a DE. Since that switch, he has been disruptive, abeit not a JJWatt, but, pretty decent.

So, sometimes having a player be able to play various positions just does not work. In Ninko's case, DE is where he belongs.

guy always seems to come up big when we need it

I still think he didn't do too badly. The whole D was bad then.

After watching the game again, the Ninkovich interception play was only 1 example of MANY instances where the patriots blitz and then targeted his hot option. It seems like Matt Patricia came up with an A+ game plan.

Vrabel was 10x better against the run. I like Ninkovich, but teams really gash us off RT more than anywhere else.

there were a lot of people calling him out to be cut at the beginning of this season
