If I hear it one more time I will positively do something violent....either that or be forced to eat something I know isn't good for me.

The 'winning TD' to Lee Evans in last season's AFCCG WAS NOT dropped!!!!!. Sterling Moore knocked the ball out of his hands. It was a great play by this kid, and the mediots are revising history to take that moment of glory from him, and diminish his part in the play.

All freakin' day, all I've heard on the radio and TV is about how the Raven were a "dropped pass" away from being in the superbowl. What ******* dropped pass are they talking about!!!!!!!!!

This is worse than them making it seem as if the Ravens would have also won the game if the FG had been good, when the reality would have been that all it got them was a chance in OT. MAN, talk about revisionist history

AND what galls me the most, I haven't heard a single local guy say schit to correct this injustice. I'm shocked that no one here hasn't been outraged enough to post something well before my missive. (perhaps someone has in a thread I haven't read yet....BUT WTF.

Bad enough we have to live with all those other lies, twisted truths and innuendos that we have to accept this one as fact.

It wasn't dropped in the most natural sense of the word. But Moore wouldn't have been able to knock it out if Evans wasn't about to hot dog it. You could see it in his face and in his body language. All the power to the guy, though. He almost caught and secured a Super Bowl appearance clinching TD. Almost...

Whilst we're ranting, let's add these two points into this thread:

1. Peyton Manning throwing the game defining interception in OT does not affect his legacy (supported by many media types).
2. The weekly I'm the only player on the Ravens worth paying attention to Ray Lewis pontification celebration.

Both have officially "done my head in" at this point in the season.

Good point, Ken. Moore did make a ply on the ball and chop it out. Had Ed Reed done that to the Deion Branch all we'd hear about was Reed's clutch play. It was a head's up play by Moore that got us to the Super Bowl.

Can you imagine the adulation if Manning broke the record for playoff wins, or was going to his 7th AFCCG, Brady does these things and you hear next to nothing.

Let Manning have his ****ty mvp trophy, Brady's going to another SB.

Ray Lewis. I'm still in NFL weekend mode from beating JJ Watt and the Houston paper texans, and can't get enough of watching replay of that and this crazy Kaepernick kid's runs and bullet passes. However, all the NFL shows keep coming back to Killer Ray. Maybe it's mostly because I'm a died in the wool Pats fan, but I just can't stand that guy and all the attention he and his thug powah gets.

I think at 9-11 post season, it pretty much is his legacy. Odd how his 1 SB win was among his worst performances too ;).

I think some media will turn on him based off this post season. They're really just waiting to see if Brady falls short because that will make bigger/btter headlines in their own mind.

Brady did get some recognition in the post game shows for breaking Montana's record for playoff wins.

But somehow I think ESPN would have had a 30 minute special if Manning did it

Here's my rant - that the Ravens are a team of destiny this year (just happening this week, of course), followed closely by Ray Lewis' proclamation that God told him to lay his hands on Jacoby Jones (or was it Flacco? Who knows, it will be the whole team come game time) and the result was the miracle TD. I mean, c'mon!!! How about Ray Lewis & Peyton Manning, 2 legends meeting privately after the game - yet there are pictures of it all over the internet. Gag!!

I'm getting mad. At first I thought this game was going to be very tough to win, but the more everyone talks, the madder I get, and the more I think BB, Brady & Co. will be loaded for bear come Sunday (quietly, of course down there in their foxhole in Foxboro).

Good rant, but I thought Belichick doesn't like foxholes.

The excellent video is gone (boo!), but the blurb remains...

Sport Science - Moore's Slap-Away

The video explained how a mere slap wouldn't have dislodged the ball, but the chopping motion did.

Regards,
Chris

They only stay in it until game time. Then, watch out!!

Digging a foxhole is neccessary in battle, especially during the calm before the storm! ;) You simply can't sit in it and expect to take the hill!

I can't stand it anymore, too, Patfanken.

Let's talk about Spygate!

Exactly. You plan your strategy in the foxhole while the other guy thinks you're asleep. Then, come game time you swarm out of it with a vengeance.

Yup, drives me nuts too.

Ken, you're actually expecting a mediot to distinguish an outstanding defensive play from a drop? You clearly overestimate them :).
What the media has to say on a football subject is pretty much irrelevant to me (Shaugnessy).
The obvious stories this week will be:
1. Winning this for Ray
2. Ravens a team of destiny
3. Ravens are inside Brady's head
4. Flacco is elite and has outplayed Brady
5. Ravens feel disrespected by Vegas line

And I'll be so sick of it by Wednesday that I'll need to just wait 2 more days till hockey starts up.

I'm actually hoping we get some more good quotes from Baltimore this week. Suggs surely will be goaded into calling out Brady. Harbaugh will be asked about his offseason quote regarding the Patriots "tainted" superbowls. Pollard will be begging to tell the world the Patriots are a finesse team.
All of this will just fuel things for Sunday. I can't wait!!!
I think Baltimore is an arrogant team which is lead by their coach. A friend of mine played on the Eagles back in 2004, 2005 when Harbaugh was the Special teams coach and he thought he was such an arrogant pr1ck.

So far I've heard we have no chance in a Superbowl against the 49ers if we happen to make it past the Ravens.

Of course, this was the stylings of Lavar Arrington, who proclaimed a Texans win so, yeah.

Lets face it. It's fashionable to hate the Pats. The Pats could win the SB without much fanfare. And some wonder why BB is the way he is. F em all. And that chip on TB's shoulder is growing.

Lets face a couple of facts here.

1) With the level of success that the Pats have enjoyed since 2001, we are now a widely loathed franchise in much the same way that the Cowboys of the 70's were hated by just about everyone who wasn't a fan of Dallas. Hell, I hated the Cowboys in the 70's and how much they won and their stern coach and the squeeky clean QB!
Sound vaguely familiar to anyone?

2) Most of the mediots nationally are young enough where if you told them you were at the game Darryl Stingly game, they'd say, "Who"? Most of the fans on this site would probably ask the same qustion! So, the national media generally don't remember the horrific days of knowing what it was like to be a Pats fans in the 80's and right on up until we went 1-15 and won the right to draft Drew Bledsoe in the early 90's. All they know is what they've seen for the last decade + and they are all damn sick of it. I would be too if I wasn't so busy orgasming over this streak of good fortune.

We are footballs equivelent of the New York Yankees, whether we as Pats fans see it or not. I'll take it though and everyone else can go to hell. Here's to another 5-7 years on top of all the other the bastads!!!!

Cheers
