Barron and Smith were both gone and if you take into account both were day 1 starters and through the season the stats aren't that far off.

Tavon played great last night in that dime role ahead of Chung and I think he has a bright future as our SS paired with McCourty to create a versatile and athletic secondary.

The Texans dont really have much in their passing game aside from Johnson and Daniels...that is not a good gauge for Tavon. Tavon didn't really look good against Teams with pretty good Offenses. Baltimore is way better on Offense and I hope Tavon stays on the Bench! Torrey Smith - Dennis Pitta and Aquan Boldin with Rice running and catching from the backfield can give anybody fits. P.s. I like Tavon's upside but just not in this postseason.

I don't think anyone is saying that Wilson doesn't have potential here to be a good player, only that he's terribly green still and made the horrible choice of repeating the exact same mistake in back to back weeks, which promptly got him in BB's doghouse for a long time.

I think that Wilson has contributed here this year for sure, and I would venture to guess that he'll be a bigger part of things moving forward, but I agree that he shouldn't be called on to do that much for the next game, or hopefully two.

I dont even know who TE#2 is for the Ravens but Garret Graham is a rock solid #2 option and James Casey (fullback, H-back, TE) is no slouch either.

Yeah, Smith scares the hell out of me too.

One thing that may actually prove to be in our favor is that we can use last week's performance to help to prepare for him + not take him too lightly again. Burning Champ Bailey tends to really make yourself stick out

I would hope that Belichick will be prepared for Smith this time around.

While your points are debatable, and everyone will have their own opinion, keep in mind that it's been the BAL offense that's gone off lately down the stretch since their meeting with the NYG.

The Houston offense was actually the one stryggling pretty badly, as Schaub hadn't even thrown more than 1 TD in his last 5 games coming into yesterday. That still didn't stop me from assuming that he'd put up 1-2 of his own though.

Flacco and the Baltimore offense do pose a threat, and one may actually argue that Smith on the outside may be a lesser all around receiver than Johnson, but has more pure speed.

From what I saw, Tavon had tight coverage and contested pretty much every ball thrown his way. I was impressed with his abilty to stay with Daniels so well and I hope he can do the same to Pitta. If he was a couple of inches taller and had longer arms I don't think they complete a ball his way last night.

I wouldn't worry too hard about who takes whose job. With just one injury to a DB, either the #4 CB or the #3 safety has to take over half the defensive snaps.

Sure, but one team has gone one direction offensively in the past month, while the other has gone in a completely opposite direction.

Did Houston have the better offense throughout the whole year? Sure. They certainly didn't have the better offense in the past month though, starting with Baltimore's week 16 matchup with the NYG.

Either way, we should be able to handle both teams, but if you're talking about right now I think that Baltimore poses the bigger offensive threat. Just my opinion though. I certainly understand your points.

The Texans were 8th in scoring, 7th in yards. Ravens were 10th in scoring, 16th in yards.

Owen Wilson had a much better year than Dennis Pita and that would be Wilson's match up in Dime situations.

I have absolutely no problem at all with Wilson being the dime back in the TE specialty role, and I think that he has had some good moments all things considered.

I also don't want to see him as a starter right now either though, as we did earlier in the year. He just isn't ready for that kind of role just yet..but he definitely has potential in my opinion, and I am glad that he's contributing on some level in his rookie year.

At least he's playing and developing as a DB, unlike some of the past higher round picks (cough, cough..Dowling).

The number of posts I have on a messageboard reflects my football knowledge? Glad to see youre so open minded. All your posts on this MB sure hasnt helped your sentence structure.

Lee Evans didnt drop the ball. Moore stripped it.

FYI, Torrey Smith played with an emotional edge that could not have been matched by anyone on that field. Not even Ray Lewis or TB himself could have matched his intensity.

Dont get me wrong. Smith is a good player and hes fast as ****. But our secondary does not remotely resemble what it was when we played the Ravens last time. Every secondary position from base to dime has been improved since then.

After he got burned by the exact same play for touchdowns against both the Seahawks and the Rams, I had seen about enough of Wilson. Now I'm happy to see him again, if only because that means seeing less of Chung.
