I wonder if the reason he did so well yesterday was that the Pats were already working on these plays with him and were hoping to use them in a later game as a surprise for their unprepared opponent, but the Gronk and Woody injuries forced them to go to this option sooner.
What impressed me more about Shane Vereen was his Blocking...he really squared up well text book blocking from a Third Down Back...thats marked improvents. Shane Vereen is begining to make a name for himself.
I forgot about that, there was one pass play where he made a great block, and even nantz mentioned it. I think Vereen is just starting to get IT, he's figured out the NFL game. He was excellent in college, but sometimes it takes guys a few games (or years), to translate that to the NFL. I think we've seen Vereen finally is there.
And they say that Tom Brady can't throw the deep ball!! LOL.
Love seeing Vereen's breakout party. And the timing couldn't be any better. He made a huge impact in the Texans playoff game. And now Baltimore's DC has one more weapon to worry about.
Hate to lose Gronk, but we just discovered another talent on our roster ready to step it up! This Patriots offense will be even scarier in 2014 when Gronk, Ballard, and Demps make their return!! Talk about STACKED!
"This may sound crazy, but I wasn't impressed," said veteran wide receiver Deion Branch after Friday's practice. "This guy, we see this every day out on the practice field. It's just all about the opportunity that guys get. Not only him. [Stevan] Ridley, [Brandon] Bolden, give them the opportunity and we know that these guys can do it . . . But I've seen Vereen do those things at practice every day."
Who thought Vereen could be a deep threat?
