Can this offense win the Super Bowl without him? I am confident they can beat the Ravens as is but what about the 49ers? This f'ing sucks

Almost beat them sans-Gronk last time around, so it's certainly possible. But as with the last postseason, an offense without its biggest weapon is a bit less dangerous and it certainly hurts the Patriots chances in these playoffs. Just gotta hope this emerging run game and the Welker-Hernandez combo is enough.

Either way, very sad to see Gronk out for the second straight year (well, last year he was severely limited), I htink they'd have won the SB last season with a healthy Gronkowski and who knows where things wind up this season.

it sucks losing Gronk, but I feel alot more confident this year that we can adapt and win than last year...right now we are 5-1 without him, and still put up 30+ points against the niners..

Hopefully we can get Woodhead back and Vereen can be that impact player that he was today

These TEs need a big receiver to take some of the loads. They hits and tough catches they make takes a toll on them. If we have invested in them, we need to find a way to protect them from themselves. Sometimes we design plays that make them do unnecessary tough catches.

gronk was the diff last year..could be diff again this year...sucks.

Anyone know if woodhead can go next week with a broken thumb?

I have no words. When we need him most. Poor guy. Poor us.

I am not worried about loosing gronk, this team can do it, I smell a big game for the pats to advance to the big one,

I'm so sick of the bull sht, every year for the last ten its been the same, injuries to major players. Its like a curse.

Not worried about the Ravens. Worried about the 49ers if we face them in the big game. He would have definitely been the difference maker last game. They neutralized our O pretty good without him.:(

true, but I feel we are better equipped offensively this year....I mean we still moved the ball with ease on that defense...I just hope woodhead is good to go

The only silver lining to Gronk being out is that hes been gone for weeks and the Pats have found ways to score without him. Last season, Gronk was Pollarded in the AFCC after a 17 TD season.

I know hes a great blocking TE but I though Hoomanawanui did a good job Blocking but Gronk will be greatly missed

Well, at least this time around, we've been successful without Gronk. As the above poster said, we have a record of 5-1 without him.

It hurts our chances, no doubt. If Gronk was able, our offense would be pretty much unstoppable.

It sucks that that great Spikes dance amounted to nothing really. I mean what were these refs thinking? They almost reminded of the Ravens game earlier this year.

Why do you think gronk slid to the second round? He has always been injury prone.

2nd straight year and we dont have him for the most important part of the season, how i wish that play never happened....oh well

i think with Gronk this team is unbeatable, with him the games are going to be tough....but only 2 more

Any "made of glass" comments, anyone?

It's a bit unsettling how often the high-priced Boston TE party is injured.

Having Ballard is going to be great next year. We'll have a #1 TE backup that will most likely start a few games as Gronk/Hernandez are never on the field together.

How the hell did his arm break/injure so easily if he was properly healed? Did the Pats medical staff rush him back too early? I thought his broken forearm needed 6 weeks to heal, and he got that. So what was wrong tonight? A regular arm doesn't break when you just fall on it the way he did tonight.
