NEM has been banned?

Says you ? Who else do you want to see kicked off ? Come on. Have the stones say.

What gives you the impression that I want anyone else kicked off?

It was a simple observation - I think this forum will be a better place without NEM.

i am for one glad that he was banned,
the man made the board contentious, and very hostile, his weren't debates, they were threats and abusive rants.

EDIT:
although, I do feel sorry for him though, he seems like he really Loves the Pats, if only he could change his tone a little, maybe a month ban maybe?

thank god...

This is the USA. Our constitution guarantees EVERYONE to voice his or hers opinion. Even if you do not like what some one has to say. If you do not like what someone has to say or write then do not listen or do not read what they have to say. If we allow someone to be banned for their opinion on something then we are no better than those countries that were behind the Iron Curtin. Or the countries that are run by dictators through fear and hate mongering. I always thought that as a country we stood for tolerance. Not prejudice and hate.

Never mind the fact that by banning NEM, Pat's fan's may have given NEM legal recourse due to discrimination. Who ever supported the ban and who ever actually did the ban had better take heed of that potential fact. Never mind the fact that banning someone because you do not like what the say is just plain wrong and UNAMERICAN.

That doesn't apply to a privately run message board. If NEM wants to run out to Boston Common and shout obout Hobbs and McDaniels then the first ammeddment allows that - it doesn't guarantee that right on this board.

It's a damn shame if NEM has been banned. Some members of this

forum call other members stupid or ignorant if they dare to question

any of Bill Belichick's or Scott Pioli's decisions. Even a stalwart like Miguel

is not above the criticism.

That’s wrong. The US supreme court banned discrimination in private clubs. That is the Law. Look it up.

This forum isn't a democracy is it?

I dont remember voting for Ian to run this board - he is in charge and what he says goes.

I think that even the ambulance chasing Legal eagles of America would be hard pushed to make a case out of this one.

If you dont like it - move on.

Its really as simple as that.

I've seen NEM attacked several times on this board, are the people who attacked him banned as well? Sure his ranting about McDaniels can get tiresome, but this is a Patriots forum and no one should be banned for posting Patriots related materials, hell no one shoul dbe banned at all. We all have the ability not to click on a topic started by a poster whom we don't care for, we also all have an ignore feature, there is no reason for anyone to ever be banned.

Great! Then why not offer up your IP address for spammers nationwide to exercise their free speech on your computer. And, btw, do not have any anti-spam software to protect yourself. That would be anti-free speech!

If this is true I have never been so embarrassed to be part of such an embarrassing hobby... lets burn some books too.

I think this sucks.....Why not ban everybody.

Ian, just end it - put patsfans.com down to rest, shoot everyone, put 'em all out of their misery.

I certainly do not condone NEM's lashing out at certain contributors that I really respect and enjoy - hello BOR. But, he has that right. If offended or if someone does not care to read it, then don't - just skip over it and move on.

NEM's well written trips down memory lane recall days of my early youth and I will miss that a lot.

The guy lives and breathes New England Patriot fooball - if he is to be banned, than just end it all right here and now.

Reversal please - the sooner the better as far as I am concerned.

Here is what we really need:

Jack Bauer: If you don't tell me what I want to know, then it'll just be a question of how much you want it to hurt.

Jack Bauer: The only reason that you're conscious right now is because I don't want to carry you.

Jack Bauer: [angry] When I'm finished with you, you're gonna wish that you felt this good again.

I say "BRING BACK NEM" .He isn't always right but so what ? He's not always wrong either.:(

How is NEM being discriminated against? The things he has been put "on vacation" for are essential and/or relevant to posting in forums, and they are also within his power to change.

No, you are wrong.. Anti Spam would be exercising my right of not listening to someone I did not care to. It is not stopping them from try to send it to me. My IP is of public record. I just do not go around advertising what it is.

"Anti Spam would be exercising my right of not listening to someone I did not care to." - Define "Hypocracy".

It IS exactly the same. Just like your blocking unwanted spam from your private computer, Ian is blocking what is unwanted by him from his private website. Just like you with the unwanted spammers, Ian is not stopping NEM from "trying to send" his messages either. Both situations are blockers.

I neither agree nor disagree with the NEM ban. I've always enjoyed the old coot like a crazy Uncle in the attic kind of thing. He means well, but this is Ian's site and Ian has been more than patient with him where several other websites (for those of you who don't know NEM's illustrious history) haven't been.

If Ian wakes up tomorrow and hates the way my poster name begins with a lower case "s", guess what? He can ban me! You bet! And further, I could complain all I want, but this is his site and that is his prerogative.

Ian can rightfully ban anyone anytime on this, his, website - - we are here as his guests...... except Tom Casale and his four fake posternames!

Some people just have trouble with the First Ammendment :)

I can't just come on here and talk about, say, bathing dogs either. It's a private forum, we post and the pleasure and approval of Ian. Don't like it ? Go somewhere else. That applies to you, me, NEM and everyone else.

Funny that other websites should be brought up. That means that besides the handy ignore feature available here, Box o rocks and the other babies have an entire site to talk Football without having to hear a peep from Nem. So what we're really talking about is a few small-minded zealots who've developed a deep hatred for Nem and wanna hurt him in any way possible.

Heard through the grapevine that the trigger was finally pulled. A shame if you ask me. Since when do pressure groups dictate who's a good Pats fan and who's not? This sets a bad precedent. If somebody isn't in the majority or has a strong opinion about something, he or she now needs to fear the possibility that their membership could be terminated.

Here's a way where we can have everyone included but spare this part of the forum from the usual back and forth war of words that so often occur in threads like these.... I propose a "Pissing Contest Forum" where forumers can create 10+ page threads bickering back and forth with their online foes. Instead of banning the least popular member, immediately send threads that devolve into such contests to the new forum.

Finally, this is the internet, don't take yourselves so seriously. Let NEM back in. This is all I have to say.
i don't know if you realize it or not but NEM has been banned at least four times in the past. i think hes been given plenty of chances .just food for thought.

He gets banned once every few months or so doesn't he?

NEM has been banned from at least 5 message boards. KFFL, Pats Planet, now Pats Fans just to name a few. He always seems to tick off the right people someway.

This banning is no isolated incident of everyone ganging up on Poor Old NEM. NEM preaches the same thing over and over and over. Day in and year out. His message hasnt changed in the 6 + years that I've been posting on the web.

He wants confrontation so people will take notice of what hes saying.

Or it's an old act from NEM that has been repeated across multiple message boards and have resulted in multiple permanent bans. Each time it happens, he plays the "woe is me" card instead of taking responsibility and looking at his own actions that led to the actions taken against him.
