Great read. You certainly get the sense from recent quotes that the team is very aware of how much work goes into getting to this point, and how fleeting it can all be. One slip up and it's gone.

Tedy Bruschi had his stroke 10 days after the Pats won their last Super Bowl. If that doesn't underscore how fragile everything can be, nothing will. Since that time the Steelers and Giants have each won 2 SBs and the Packers, Colts and Saints have won one each. The Steelers have actually made the Super Bowl more times than the Pats over the past 7 years, even though the Pats have been the #1 or #2 seed in the AFC 4 out of those 7 years.

Time to start closing the deal and winning some more Super Bowls, and cement a legacy. One game at a time. There is certainly no sense of complacency coming out of Foxboro. They know everything is on the line, and the Texans are gunning for revenge, so they need to come out firing and execute in all 3 phases of the game.

This is a great article Grid, but the above quote still pisses me off. What they call a 7 year drought, consisted of 7 double digit win seasons, 6 Division titles, 3 AFCCG's, and 2 Superbowl appearances. That's not exactly NOTHING.

There are over a dozen NFL franchises who would love to have just ONE of those seasons that are described as "nothing", let alone 7 straight.

Hey I know all about "its the superbowl or bust". I know how painful a loss in this playoffs would be. HOWEVER, I also know what the Pats have already accomplished this season has been very difficult and hard won. I know that what they've accomplished in the 6 seasons before that was something to be proud of.

A few Observations:

1 ~ It is "We." ~ The Sport doesn't exist without we Fans, so we are 100% correct in claiming Full Partnership in our Team's Successes and Failures.

2 ~ Having said that: Any Clown who applies the Word "Unacceptable" to these Patriots, who've given us, under Mad Bill's leadership, unprecedented and previously unimaginable Glory...is no Fan but rather a Parasite.

3 ~ This Article was not written in that pathetic, disgusting, and despicable Ron Borges/Dan Shaughessy "I've Got A Small Wee Wee So I'm Going To Try To Compensate For That By Posing Like I'm So INCREDIBLY Manly The I Am In Fact The Manly Moral Compass Of All Of New EngLand Sports" Vein.

Weird... link didn't work on my phone. A good article. I hope I am able to witness my first superbowl championship by this time since I started following this team.

I am very psyched to see this team tomorrow. I don't take the game for granted by any means, and will be crushed if they lose. But to a man they seem to be focused and aware of what they need to do. And above all, I'm psyched to finally see the 2012 New England Patriots close to how I had envisioned them being as a playoff team:

- Gronk and Hernandez health and on the same field at close to full strength. Something that we haven't seen since game 1 against Tennessee.

- Mankins and Vollmer claim to be the healthiest they've been all season. That will be huge, and bodes well for the return of the running game. Vollmer was dominant the first part of the season, before his back issues wore him down. I'm not sure JJ Watt has had to deal with a line with 2 guys like that before, and the only other playoff team with that kind of a physical line is San Francisco (Mike Iupati and Davis).

- Chandler Jones played what BB called perhaps his best game of the season against Miami. Jones back on form with Ninkovich, Cunningham, Francis and Scott all active is something we haven't seen year, IIRC, and certainly not since the changes in the secondary.

- Talib and Dennard back at CB with McCourty at FS and Arrington in the slot. Both CBs sound like they are ready to play, the first time we've had that secondary healthy since the first half of the Houston game.

No one's seen that team yet. A subset of that team managed to go 12-4 and score over 34 PPG. But that team? At full strength, and at full intensity?

I'm psyched.
