Wade Phillips: 'We feel like we should win'

You’re not going to get to him very much. That’s what he’s great at. He recognizes blitz and changes protections better than anybody in the league, anybody that I’ve ever been around.

Peyton's posse is going to be very upset with Mr. Phillips.

"Yeah! That's it! We feel like we should win!"

What's the big deal here. If he DIDN'T feel that way, he should be fired on the spot.

Phillips said the Texans would try "to play the running game and force them into throwing it.”

A quote that will along with the most ridiculous things a coach said this season. You're gonna "force" the GOAT to throw the ball to best TE tandem and the best slot WR all-time at home?
OK, then. I'll take it anyday.

congrats wade...but you still have to come up here and win against a very good team..

After reading the whole article, that was the least confident-sounding expression of confidence I think I've ever heard.

Right now I'm grateful our opponents have the coaches they have. If the Texans win, their players will have done it on their own and it will be a great victory.

I don't think it's going to happen.

Holy **** Bill Belichick has you all coach speak brainwashed. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. Good Lord.

At least Kubiak is keeping his mouth shut except for the Belichick-type complimentary about his opponent.

Wade is a buffoon.

I agree. What Wade said is pretty innocuous and/or obvious. But it isn't like there were a lot of posters getting bent out of shape about it. Also, there is a bit of history with Wade and some of his comments directed at the Patriots. If I am remembering correctly, it sure seemed like Wade had some irrational inner hostility toward BB (he must be unaware that envy is one of the seven deadly sins).....

I look at this as him trying to manufacture confidence and swagger, not being like the Jets were in 2010 (well January 2011) where the Jets had real confidence and swagger going into the game. You can't manufacture confidence or swagger though.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Phillips' comments other than it is a bit wishy washy. If the players are as wishy washy, they might be in trouble.

Three things can happen when you throw the ball. Two of them aren't good.

Funny, I feel like I should be a billionaire. And thinner.

Says the guy who roots for a team whose fanbase got their knickers in a bunch over an article by Dan ******* Shaughnessy, of all people .

Ahm...doesn't the same apply to running the football? Or does that entail an automatic gain of at least 1 yard every single time? If there's one thing I hate is people parroting these kinds of "truths" that don't actually mean anything when you put any thought into understanding them.

I agree. I really don't have any problems with what Phillips said either.

In 2010 Ryan made it about him vs Belichick. "It's personal" was the mantra. He took all the pressure off his team. He buried the 45-3 gameball. They came into Foxboro confident, on a mission and did the job.

In lieu of Foster's comments, that might be the philosophy here.

We feel like we should win.

Doesn't sound very confident to me.

Buffon...envious...fat....dumb...scared...
Wade and the Master have been on opposite sidelines 29 times in their careers.

Wade 15
BB 14

BB has run over a lot of people in this league, but if you are into facts, Wade isn't one of them.

Last time without key LB, two DBs playing first game, J Joe hurt, Texans playing 3rd straight road game, including 3 games in something like 13 days, two going into OT and almost 5 qts, also missing TE and OT, yeah BB ran over Wade and the Texans.

Just keep believeing the script will unfold the same way this time around.

Eh, I don't see much of an issue here. I'd question him if he didn't feel like his team should win.

The last two games between Phillips and Belichick haven't been close.
