Jags Cut The Mularkey

Didn't last one calendar year as JAX head coach (1/11/12 - 1/10/13). I am sure he'll catch on somewhere, but he definitely deserved to be let go, in my opinion. What a sorry franchise that is down there.

Hilarious. Their new GM worked with Mularkey in Atlanta and he still fired him. And to top it off, the new GM is highly interested in Mike Nolan who is the DC in Atlanta and was when Mularkey was OC. What a huge diss.

And yet Sexxy Rexxy still has the HC in the Jersey swamps but the Rats can't get a GM to take the job.

Go figure...

Suprised it took this long. I truly feel Jville isn't as bad talent wise as their record.

Should have never hired him in the first place. Especially after that meltdown vs the giants in the playoffs as the falcons OC. I heard they were planning on firing him if he didn't get hired by J-ville.

One more vacancy Rex is going to have to compete with for a sucker to step into his OC vacancy.

that game where he threw all his headset equipment onto the field because he was angry at a bad call was hilarious.

They had to do a complete housecleaning, even if they liked Mularkey. The taint of last season needed to be completely removed. Fortunately for AFCE fans, Woody Johnson doesn't get this, and Cryin' Ryan is still HC of the NYJ.

I wonder if the owner will be looking for a head coach who is on board with the idea of trading for Tebow.

Might be a hard sell.

Sign the Beas................. Oh wait. Never mind, wrong thread. ;)

To be fair, Nolan is a better coach than Mularkey.

Not that I have any info about them going there, but Tebow/MJD would be an excellent pairing in a Florida-style option offense.

Mularkey was also the idiot who thought JP Losman gave the Bills a better chance to win than Drew Bledsoe. Fool.

In Mularkey's defense, he was just repeating Bills history, and echoing the Flutie/Rob Johnson days.

Beat me to it, bastid.

Given the recurring example of those 2 horrible choices in post K Gun Bills history and the excellent draft position misses & FA misfires it's obvious that the corporate culture hiring at One Bills Way is deeply flawed. Heard the new HC ex-Syracuse and NFL interviewed on Sirius NFL Radio. Both Adam Schein & Rich Gannon enthused over the guy post interview but then, unless it's the Jets, I rarely hear them really put anyone down. Best of luck to the Bills; they'll need it.

Couldn't decide whether to put this in Jets Suck thread or this one; well, here you go:

WHOA. RT @KMart_LI: BREAKING: Caldwell on Tebow: I cant imagine a scenario where he'd be a Jax Jaguar. Even if he's released.

Good move by the Jags. Mularkey had NFI what he was doing.
