I'm thinking that this is the Rodney Harrison thing. When it's our guy he's a fan favorite. Dennard fights some out of uniform cop - cool as long as he can play. Spikes is hardly a saint - everybody loves him. Talib comes here with what kind of a history? Atleast he's tall and can cover. Pats putting the lights out on Chargers was funny as hell, huh?

Way too much hate for a guy that hasn't really done **** compared to some of the other thugs in the nfl, on and off the field.

I wonder what the theme around here was if pick #33 is R.Sherman to NE Patriots.

You forget one thing.

Some Pats did that ONCE.

Notice, they never did that again.

This guy did it TWICE in one season. Right in the face of an adversary.

But his "pumped and jacked" HC (whom I like, despite this) is too busy celebrating to notice or care.

D. Branch - "Where's your towel? Where's your towel? "

Fans talk ****,players talk ****. It's classless but hardly a big deal.

I never said that a lot of players didn't do it, but the guy is in his second year and he already is amassing a pretty large resume of Richard moves.

Rodney Harrison, a guy who was famous for getting flagged for hits after the play was dead: Saint.

Richard Sherman, a guy who is famous for talking after the game is over: ******* who deserves violent retribution.

Way to be, patsfans.com.

So the criteria for it being ok to taunt players after games in the NFL is one's skill level.

Got it, thanks, Mr. Trump.

Also, pretty funny, Fnord, IN YOUR OWN WORDS, you write (and seemingly miss the irony) is that Harrison GOT FLAGGED for what he did.

Wooooooooossssshhhhhhhhhh.........

I'd take Sherman on this team in a millasecond. Love that attitude he plays with. Alas, pats are stuck with Glass-IR Dowling instead :( . Hopefully next year we'll have a whose better Dowling or Sherman? thread. ...we can dream right?

The subject is not his skill level.

The subject is his after game taunting of enemy players. During a game is fine. When the game is over, you do not rush into a players face and start taunting him.

Only idjits like a certain Patriots former owner's son would do that.

.....and he got what he deserved from Matt Millen.

What is so hard for some of you to understand?

If he played for BB, I can GUARANTEE you, he would never have done that a SECOND time in one season in a Patriots uniform. Just ask Wes Welker.

Can you elaborate on this incident, my memory fails me on this one...thanks

I don't have a huge problem with what he does, if he's going to back it up. That said, I can't wait until he loses and everything falls back on him.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. I've had enough of cupcakes at CB. Only reason Sherman gets to people is because he's actually owning guys. If some our recent all star CBs acted that way they'd get laughed off the field.

Cheap shot.

He asked for that cheap shot. He told Williams to punch him, dared him.

Williams was a punk for having his helmet on though I'm sure he didn't expect Sherman to dare him.

But then Sherman made a fool of himself by standing behind a cordon of people and then threatening Williams. I've seen that move before, "Let me at him!!!" while a bunch of people are standing in front of him.

Both of those guys are chumps.

Looks like Trent came up to him. Sherman didn't even retaliate, he's a smart kid who plays head games and they work. He's an even better corner.

Head games are fine during the game. You don't go up to Brady and tell him he's nothing after you've been in the league one year. That is totally classless.

if you can't see the difference between gameplay and how you comport yourself after the game, then no give and take on a messageboard is going to help you.

Yes, during the game: saint.

After the game: punk.

You honestly think we should be ashamed for having such an opinion? The opposite seems totally crazy to me.

I want so bad for Brady to have another anthony smith moment. I want to see that fire and ****yness.

Actually a little similar to this one. I was way to young but have heard the story so one of the old timers on here maybe can elaborate more.

Sullivan's kid at the time was the GM and he was on the sidelines during a playoff game and he was talking smack to Howie Long who took exception to it and after the game Howie confronted him and Sullivan instead of backing down grabbed at him and then Millen defending his teamate (who clearly didnt need it) threw and landed a punch on Sullivan.
The bad blood had been brewing for years going back to Sugar bear and Stingly and apparently Sullivan who finally beat the Raiders went a little over the top during and after the game but he was reacting to a lot of trash talk from Howie all week leading up the playoff game in 85.

So would Peyton Manning or Terrell Suggs.

Your point?

Just that. Fans would love him and his antics if he played here. I am not approving or disapproving in my statement. But if you want my opinion: he's got a big mouth. Once the game is over, shut it.

If he played here and said that Brady was on his way down I think it would have made it ten times worse.

I think this argument is stupid first off he doesnt play here and he is taking shots at our QB so we should just shrug that off and say yeah but if he were here doing that we wouldnt care? Second even if he were here that does not mean I would like every stupid thing he does I certainly did not like our team doing the whole lights out BS after that game.

I actually had a bigger problem with the "dirty bird" antics in the Super Bowl.

That actually IS the right way to be. You leave it out all on the field. And while you're on the field, you kick, punch & bite til you have nothing left.

But the game is over, it's over. You never/ever rub it directly in someone's face or you get beech-slapped like he did. And he obviously wanted no part of that guy the little dweeble.:D
