anyone ever figure out if this can be done instead of having to endure a 5 second lag time on the tv?

There is a small radio one can buy that will delay audio signals..to synch with TV...39.95 or such...

Behringer DSP2024P Virtualizer Pro Digital Effects Processor

This device will add from 0 to 5.4 seconds to the radio broadcast. It can process a stereo signal. It's a semi-pro audio device and not for the faint of heart regarding implimetation although it isn't THAT difficult. It just isn't going to be plug and play as parameters will have to be entered and stored. It's $100. If you want to go this route, ask me questions.

A solution!!

Guys...I got my radio this week for teh game...worked like a charm....It's a small transister radio...runs on 2 AA batteries...but it has a cable link if you wish to use with a theater system..I just put it in near enough to me so I can hear it (with teh TV down). It takes a few plays to get the audio in synch, but once it's there you just never think about it. Really works good...AND it's available from this place in Natick, MA..they ship priority...as well so ne will get it quick.

SportSync Radio

Thank for the tip. I just ordered mine. I don't want to miss Gil Santos' last game calls.

What place in Natick, MA, by the way?

I seem to recall somebody saying something about having the video record through your DVR, Tivo, etc., then play it back the obligatory five seconds later. I've never tried that, but if I recall correctly somebody here described that a couple years ago, and said that it worked perfectly.

Simple get Sirius (30 free trial it requires entering your credit card), hook your audio out (laptop, desktop, ipad etc) to your home sound system, and then adjust it from there. If Sirius is behind the TV pause the TV or vice versus until you have it where you want it.

His last game will be the AFCCG win against the Ravens.

So if you have them winning and getting to the SB, he wouldn't be doing the Super Bowl?

Does he do the SB? I am always at some party or a bar. If he does then the other poster is writing the Pats off early.

Both teams radio broadcasters get to do the Super Bowl

that works perfectly when radio is late relative to TV
I git the impression that the OP's problem is that his radio is early vs TV

If you have Verizon as your wireless provider, you get NFL Audio pass as part of the NFL App for free. It is about 2 plays behind television. Just pause the tv for a few seconds and away you go.

So speed of sound is 343.2 m / s in 68 F temperature. So for a 5 minute delay you'll need to put the radio about 102960 m ( 10.296 km or 6.398 miles ) away. But speed of sound is slower when colder, so you can get away with 6 miles away. You can link toilet roll cardboard tubes to contain the sound on the cheap. :D

I used to mess around with this stuff.

Now I just turn the center channel of my receiver off.

Crowd noise and referees come through the L and R channels, so I get to enjoy the sounds of the game without the annoying banter of people telling me what I saw with my own eyes.

Try it, you won't be disappointed. You get to hear way more of the line calls/audibles, too. And the hilarious **** the mics pick up from the crowd.

Whoa hold on! Yes I do have Verizon as my wireless provider. When you say "the NFL App" what app are you talking about? Are you talking about the "NFL Mobile" app and if so how do you navigate to the NFL Audio pass part?

Absolutely - if you go to the Super Bowl they give you a cheap radio so that you can dial into one of four or five broadcasts (at least they did in Houston) I have a very happy memory of sitting in the stands in Houston when Vinitari was running on the field at the end of the game and Gino yelling on the broadcast "this kids gonna make this kick" "he's going to make it". Still makes me happy thinking about it.

Make sure the mix is set full wet, or it will sound like a Pink Floyd concert.
