TV pundit Rob Parker, after making controversial comments on race in relation to Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, is gone from ESPN.

Parker, who is African American, made those comments on the morning talk show First Take, about Griffin, who is also African American, possibly being a "cornball brother" who is " not really down with the cause."

Says ESPN spokesman Mike Soltys, in a statement: "Rob Parker's contract expired at year's end. Evaluating his work and our needs, including his recent RGIII comments, we decided not to renew his deal."

ESPN had no further comment.

Parker, who had already been suspended for 30 days, suggests in this interview with a Detroit TV station that in an ESPN First Take production meeting his basic points about Griffin were understood to be the "way they were going" on the show and his comments weren't just "off-the-cuff."

Rob Parker will never return to ESPN!
-Tom Brady

Tim Hardaway, Sean Salisbury, Rob Parker...sometimes stars burn a little too bright.

Well on the rare off chance I was ever to tune into First Take at least I know I won't have to hear his Brady bashing

Agreed, i have never seen anyone hate on Brady as much as Parker

I guess that interview killed him. While I'm not a fan of these guys getting fired over this stuff, his performance in that interview was really stupid, and ESPN probably felt as if he didn't leave them with any choice.

Good. I hope he stays off of TV for life. Go work for the New York papers, they'll put up with your crap.

There is no room in our society for racism. Parker needed to learn a hard truth: There is only one race.......human. Everything else is an artificial construct designed by certain parties to further their own agenda of dividing us one from another, and thus having an easier path to power and control of our society.

Only by fighting these "something hyphen American" designations at every turn can we become the melting pot that we are supposed to be.

ESPN's not down with the cause! It's a cornball network!

ESPN tells these guys to 'act up' for the camera for ratings and entertainment as the E means in ESPN...however Rob decided to act up a little bit controversial and cost him his job.

Those segments are still B.S. IMO and made for TV ...To me they are all but rehearsed but in this situation they ended up with a foot in their mouth with an unexpected blooper.

parker is a racist SOB...move shouldn't be surprising

There's a list of guys I'd like ESPN to piss off. Stephen A. Smith is at the top of that list.

No, I'm pretty sure that there actually are different races, and there's no harm in understanding that. It's when douchebaggery is added to the race discussion that we have problems. And, waitasec ... Rob Parker's a douchebag! Theory proven!

I guess Parker left to pursue his dream job of reporting straight from Aaron Rodgers behind. :D

There are different ethnicities, which is what the diversity industry is based upon. It's the check-box mafia that fits people into different categories by skin color, hair, specific features, etc, however there is only one race, and that is human. The diversity industry is counting upon folks to confuse the two.

He hates Boston for some reason. Have you ever heard him marginalize Larry Birds talents?
Fortunately no, but i can imagine him talking BS about Larry, Btw i have heard Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith tell him upfront that his hatred for all things Boston is very obvious :D

Some folks just seem to have a genetic bias, or one that's so deep set in their personality that they cannot see it, even when someone else points it out.

I could deal with him for short periods of time, but most often I don't even tune in. Life's too short for that stuff.

There's only two types of people I hate - those who are intolerant of other cultures. And the Dutch.
