Has CBS announced if we get the #1 team of Nantz and Simms for our game, or are they going to cover the Denver game?

I hope not. Let them torment themselves over gushing over the Ravens or Manning. I almost puked at their comments during the Ravens/Colts game.

Great, thanks Skree!

It is always good to hear all the good things Nantz has to say about Vince Woolferk.

I know he has his detractors on this board, but I think Nantz likes the Patriots more than any other team in the NFL, although some of you may disagree. Plus, Simms' son Chris works for us. I'm happy that CBS has the Super Bowl this year.

I would assume that since it is the late game that CBS would assign their number one crew (i.e., Nantz and Simms) to the Pats game. They probably see it as likely to be more competitive, plus the two teams represent larger markets.

At least one site is reporting that it will be Nantz & Simms; Ken Fang is usually on top of these type of things and not just throwing stuff up against the wall.

I actually like Nantz. It is Simms that I find extremely annoying and very biased !

That is very shocking. Would have sworn CBS would send their #1 crew to Manning vs Lewis.

But then again Simms probably said no. New Jersey to Foxborough is a lot quicker than New Jersey to Denver. Plus the fact he is probably thinking Denver will win and doesn't want to do the trip twice in back to back weeks.

I think it's written in Dan Dierdorf's contract that he gets every Peyton Manning game.

I really wish CBS would use the alternate audio track for simulcasting the Pats radio broadcast. Or even the stadium only audio. Simms in particular makes me want to vomit.

He also used to speak quite highly of Todd Light.

He also speaks well of Todd Brady, Todd Belichick, and Todd Welker too. I wonder if he still has good thoughts on Todd Bledsoe.

If Dierdorf qualifies as "2nd best" color commentator and not "flat out the worst" then CBS really needs to re-evaluate themselves.

And two boxes of tissues ...

Maybe in the minority, but really like Nantz/Simms... they are very familiar/knowledgeable with what we do and the innner workings of BB..

They do not seem to fumble all that much..

I don't know if I "like" Nantz/Simms, but they're the second best NFL commentary team right now next to Michaels/Collinsworth (in spite of Collinsworth). That's mostly because FOX has the worst commentary and presentation I've ever seen in sports television.

I like Nantz/Simms too. I actually really like Billick too, I think he has a great ability to explain reasonably complicated football concepts in clear, simple terms.

I like Michaels and Collinsworth best.

Anybody complaining about getting Nantz & Simms must know about some CBS broadcast teams I'm not aware of. Here are the options, per Wikipedia:

Jim Nantz/Phil Simms/Steve Tasker (postseason sideline reporter)
Greg Gumbel/Dan Dierdorf
Ian Eagle/Dan Fouts
Marv Albert or Spero Dedes/Rich Gannon
Kevin Harlan/Solomon Wilcots
Bill Macatee or Spero Dedes/Steve Tasker
Spero Dedes/Steve Beuerlein (Weeks 2-3, 12-13, 16-17)
Don Criqui/Randy Cross (Weeks 16-17)

I like Michaels and Collinsworth best.

Same here, but I think Troy Aikman is underrated in the booth. Maybe it makes up for how overrated he was on the field? :)
