Wild Card Weekend: Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens

I would go with the ravens. Hopefully they can rough them up a bit before we potentially meet.

Take a look who Denver has played this season...KC twice...Oakland Twice....how many team have they played this year who are over .500 and did they beat them..lolo

Two. The Ravens and the Bengals. Neither are strong above .500 teams IMHO at least when the Broncos played the Ravens. Every other team they beat had 7 or less wins other than Pittsburgh who were .500.

I still don't get this logic. The Ravens are a team that lost 4 of their last 5 games (would have been 5 of the last 6 if not for a bad Chargers' defense giving up a 4th and 27 on a dump off pass) including getting blown out by the Broncos at home. The Ravens are currently not a very good team and if this team that has been on field the last month and a half was the Ravens' team that played the entire year, they would have been more likely to be a top 10 draft pick team than a playoff team.

They could win today because the Colts are not nearly as good as their record and very vulnerable if you can shut down Luck. So they could lose today, but I like the Colts' chances better in Denver because they are riding high while the Ravens are crashing to the ground.

Marketing would love these AFC titile matchups:

Patriots vs. Texans (revenge rematch)
Broncos vs. Colts (Peyton's revenge)

One advantage Colts have is that Luck has that magic ability to complete the last drive to win. Not sure if Flacco can do that.

But, we all want the team that has the best chance to beat the Broncos, next week. Since Broncos have played (win) the Ravens, and have not played the Colts, I think the Colts have a better chance to beat the Broncos.

IMO

Without question the Ravens have a better chance to beat the Broncos. Ngata, Reed, Lewis, Suggs. On offense, Ray Rice is the type of player who can break any defense if used properly. One other thing the Ravens have is a boom-or-bust passing game that features a lot of deep vertical passes, which on a given Sunday (or Saturday) can put up a lot of points.

If the Colts win, that in itself is a huge victory for them. Nothing short of a ring will do for the Ravens.

Without question? No offense, but 34-17 blow out loss to the Broncos at home a few weeks ago tells me otherwise.

I think the Ravens have little to no chance because Reed, Lewis, and Suggs are just overhyped names at this point due to age and injuries. None of those guys are even close to the guys that their reputations are built on right now. I would rather have McCourty, Spikes, and Ninkovich than those three right now. Ngata is the only guy who playing close to a Pro Bowl level of the guys you mentioned and he is having a relatively down year himself.

Give me the Colts who have the potential to get into a shootout with Manning and are trending high with a lot of emotion.

Take a good look at both teams. The Colts have little or no chance against the Broncos. So yes, I want the Ravens to win as their defense has the best chance against the Bronco's.

Is it just me or is it the stupidest thing in all of sports that Ray Lewis comes out on the field before his team and dances around in front of the crowd?
What really is the point?

I don't know why you feel the Raven defense is any good. It sucks.
At least the Colts would have big play potential.

Can we go one thread in this forum without a "Denver haz playd nobody" post? For a forum in which many of the posters supposedly aren't worried about the Broncos, that team sure does command a lot of posts are here (including a 600 post thread).

I think the way some media eat it up is stupider, but, yeah ... it's like a bad scene from a bad word and sandal movie.

Wow I hope Arians is okay. Wonder how much it'll affect Indy today

Tough break for the Horseshoes. Hopefully just a flu for Arians although he's been under some pressure/stress including making a decision to stick with Indy for a while and develop Luck (and continue to backup Pagano who isn't out of the woods yet) or strike while the iron is hot and take a HC job perhaps in SD.

It was going to be an uphill battle for Indy today in Baltimore. This will likely tip the balance although I'm sure they will all be trying to be Brucestrong... Emotion will only take you so far and for so long.

the Ravens D is much better than the Colts and can give Manning pressure up the middle where he does not like it.

The other thing is that Ray Rice is much better than any Colts RB and that is the Broncos weakness on D.

As much as I want Baltimore to win as along with many, I think they have the best shot to beat Denver, I don't think I can stand anymore of this Ray Lewis stuff. I couldn't turn to a sports channel this week (even here in Canada) without something on Lewis.

I never understood this, especially when just last year the pats didn't beat an above .500 team until the afccg

Maybe it because a Denver loss means the Patriots hosting the AFCCG? Just a thought.

Ray Rice thinks each Raven player will give 150% because its Rays last home game.
He also thinks the coaches have decided they will now call the best game of thier lives because its Rays last home game.

Which turned out to be pretty important as the 13-3 team came as close as you can to lising the AFCCG to a winning team, and lost the SB to a 9-7 team.

Why is it not a valid concern this year when it was proven to be a valid concern last year?

CBS is showing the entrance of all the ravens player with ray lewis in the end. Just hilarious showboating team....hate it.
