I like to track snowstorms...it's a little hobby of mine. I am currently tracking a snowstorm that will hit the mid-atlantic and northeast between January 12-14. Well, here is one model that is showing something...

The 18z GFS model is showing something, but this model is not fully in its accurate range which is 4-5 days out. Just wanted to notify some of you that there could possibly be a snow event for the Divisional Round of the playoffs for New England. This model shows .5-.75 QPF or 5-7.5 inches of snow in 10:1 ratios which is 32-30 degrees F. As temperatures drop the snow ratio goes up.

Just letting everyone know, there could be something brewing and might not. Time will tell. I will post the changes from day to day! If there is snow coming, I will post a snow map of MA and CT on Friday.

Nice warm up coming this week and next weekend is looking mild with possible rain.

The weekend after is another story.

Projections are for a major outbreak of cold weather west to east starting in mid-January for the lower 48. They're predicting the really cold weather may stick around for awhile with the cold actually intensifying over time. The AFC championship game could very well be a frosty one regardless of where it's played.

Maybe sooner than that...

Brutal Cold Waves Could be Heading for the U.S.

NWS is saying clear, 30s.

its 8 days out...if you watch NWS from now to then...every other day they will have a new forecast!! Read the forecast discussions as well!! I am not saying the storm will happen, but could happen. GFS is not in its complete accurate ranges until 4-5 days out.

Snow would be great for obvious reasons, but the predictions of rain would suck in my opinion.

I know that there aren't any major reasons to doubt the offense's ability to produce in the rain, but my worry would be that it could slow them down a bit.

This far out I could predict that it would rain frogs and be as correct any other forecast.

Good news is...the NAO is going negative which leads to much colder air!

In eight days there really is only one certainty....do I really have to say what that certain cetainty is?????

The game will go on and there will be weather and dark outside!

No...I said CERTAIN CERTAINTY!!!

So, we're not getting frogs?

The Jets suck and Rex Ryan needs to change his boxers or briefs after watching players get their ankles taped?

kinky....fits the stereotype...yes,eight days from now the Jets will still..well..you know...
