Pete Prisco has an orgasm

Manning-lovers in the media have been waiting three years to put those ass kissing articles up.

Some of the stuff is just laughable. For instance:

You might think that so much poor play would relegate them to the middle tier of NFL champions, but I think it means that the 2006 Colts, playoff edition, were so dominant that they could fall asleep for entire quarters and still win convincingly. The team the Colts put on the field for Super Bowl XLI will go down as one of the best in history.

...

So note to the rest of the league: look out. Peyton Manning and the more-dominant-than-you-think Colts may not be one and done when it comes to winning Super Bowls.

I mean, just imagine what these Colts would have done to teams in the playoffs if they had actually played well.

Indy finally wins with a team that probably isn't as good as they were two-three years ago, and all of a sudden the rest of the NFL better "watch out". The guy that wrote this article acts like the Colts were the only team in the league or history that had to overcome obstacles.

That last part of the article is ridiculous. Two can play at that game: just imagine what would have happened to the Colts if KC's offense could have taken advantage of IND's turnovers, or McNair didn't get intercepted on the goalline, or the Patriots didn't have to fly across the country twice with a handful of guys battling the flu.

Indianapolis deserved the Super Bowl, but these type of articles are a joke and nothing more.

Ugh. That was sickening as well. Bob Sanders the best safety of his generation? Harrison mentioned in the same breath with Rice, a player who was flat out dominant in the playoffs while Harrison's playoff highlight reel is less than a minute long?

Never mind the fact this was the weakest team the NFC has trotted out since the 2000 Giants. Maybe weaker. That Giants D was scrappy and Tiki Barber is better than any player on the Bears offense and it's not even close.

I always felt the majority of the media were desperate for the Colts to win a title. Only now is it clear just how desperate they were. And the ballwashing has just begun. Len Pasquereli painted the most rosy picture possible about the Colts looming FA issues. It's going to be a long and difficult off-season for fans of 31 other teams sorting through the media adulation to find a nugget or two about their own teams.

Agree, very sickening.. just wait till they wake up from their post super bowl orgasm and look at who they have been sleeping with.. their tune won't change right now as this is a feel good story from the heartland.

*sigh*
We knew this would happen. :bricks:
LOL I love the line: "I mean, just imagine what these Colts would have done to teams in the playoffs if they had actually played well".
Oh duh. Imagine if the Browns had played well;sky's the limit, baby.

Manning has stepped into Brady's reputational territory...but it ain't all roses. How many times have we been baffled that Brady didn't get it done b/c "he always gets it done"? Manning is being praised for being one of the "best ever", but what happens after he comes up small in another playoff game?

Trust me, Manning will wind up like Brett Favre. At the peak of his career he got a ring and could walk on water...but as the years go on, they are filled with more playoff disappointments that tarnish his reputation.

BTW--isn't it telling that, for Manning to win a ring, he basically had to emulate Brady's take-what-they-give-you style?

There have been multiple orgasms through the media.

As I listened to Andrea Kreamer and watched Peyton, his feet never went into the rain water. He walked on top of it.

Pathetic, although the worst i saw came on ESPN last night when they were talking (the irvin crew) about how this cements PM's legacy as the best qb of all time, including the superbowl!

Let the ball washing begin!

Can you just imagine if Eli ever wins a Superbowl? Archie will be hailed as the greatest father ever! They will probably put him in the HOF.

I don't know why you guys are putting yourself through this. The ball washing always made me sick and I knew after he won it would reach a new level. So I made the decision after the AFC Championship not to read any of the talking heads until at least August.

My sentiments exactly !!! Since I live In New Orleans, where Pay-me-a-ton is from, I can only imagine how all the local sycophants and accolites of Peyton Manning are creaming in their jeans. At least when the Saints were in the playoffs this year, he took a back seat, big time. But, I knew as soon as the Saints lost to that fraud in the windy city, the Peyton Manning fawning love fests would reach an all time high locally. I don't have the stomach to listen to ANY of it (local or national), and refuse to. Believe me, it works !!!!

I remember fondly the first time I hated Peyton Manning.

I was on vacation in Knoxville, TN in 1998 (don't ask). I was in a bookstore and they had a huge display with this piece of **** piled up to the rafters.

I was like are you kidding me, this loser hasn't even taken a snap in the NFL yet and these stupid rednecks are already making his bust for the HOF. I wanted to throw up.

Its been that way ever since.

I am sure they conveniently left out his record versus the Gators and Steve Spurrier, while he was at Tennessee (record: 0-4) :D

Thank God tm

I knew we were in trouble when Prisco started to appreciate the Pats. Let's hope he's back on the all offense all the time bandwagon.

ESPN quoted Peyton as saying Eli will probably win not just one,but a few SB's in his career.

Only way Eli is going to ever win a SB is by betting on the Pats.

If Peyton plays another 5 to 6 years at his current level of production, he will have broken nearly EVERY meaningful record there is for quarterbacks. If that happens, whether he wins another super-bowl or not, he will retire as the greatest quarterback of all-time. Winning the super-bowl, and the games mvp, was the final piece of the puzzle.

Whether the haters like it or not, thats a fact.

Meaningful?

His defense and a soft postseason schedule got him a ring.

Fraudulent Chiefs
Overrated Ravens
Worn-out-banged-up-aging Patriots
Sucky Bears

In truth, Peyton still hasn't beaten a superior team in the playoffs. He avoided playing the Chargers on the road, which is the only reason he's got a ring.

Well unfortunatly, that's what most people who either do not have a brain, or are just to lazy to think for a minute will come to realize. The problem with you, and most of the analysts out there, like Prisco, is that you look at the bottom line and say "wow, look at Mannings stats. he's the best ever". What makes him so great? That he can put up incredible regular season numbers? I wonder if you have realized that there is a difference between putting up great regular season numbers and great post season numbers. You dont play creampuffs in the post season. Brady's postseason numbers are better then Mannings. Not wins and loses, but stats. Brady has been better playing against the tougher opponents in the tougher games. I think that is more telling then how many regular season TD's or passing yards one can rack up. How about the fact that Peyton Manning has always had a much better surrounding cast then Brady. Or the fact that he plays 8 games a season (minimum) in a dome. And if you don't think that makes a difference, check out Brady's dome stats. Comperable, if not better then Mannings. Same goes for when you look at Mannings outdoor stats. They take a significant drop off.
