Hello Pats Nation,

First time poster here! Im excited that my wife and I will be making the trip to Foxborough from VA to see our first live Pats game next weekend!!!! We are staying at a Holiday Inn about 15 minutes from the stadium and plan on Saturday heading up to check out the area and shops around the field. I have some questions about possibly visiting Boston. My wife would like to check out the city and its only about 45 minutes from the hotel. Im concerned about how bad traffic is in the city. I would prefer not to have to drive in grid lock in an area I know nothing about. Any recommendations on possibly parking somewhere and taking a bus or train into the city? If we do go any recommendations on places we should see or restaurants that would be good for dinner? Any does and donts, or travel routes into the city would be much appreciated. Go PATS!!!!

Check out MBTA.com for a look at the transit map for the city and surrounding towns. You can park at one of the stops and take the T into the city.

I would highly recommend a visit to the North End. You can take the T to downtown and do the touristy thing at Faneuihl Hall (I do recommend that as well), then walk to the North End for some awesome Italian food. While in the area get some haddock and chowder from ... well, from just about any seafood restaurant.

Enjoy your trip!

Just wanted to follow by saying I had a great time at the Pats/Texans game. I appreciate all the tips and info I got from reading threads here on the site. I had an awesome time and will be back next year. Everyone was super cool that I talked with and the stadium is incredible. I do have one question. They played a song a couple times during the game and everyone seemed to know it but my wife and I had never heard it. I thought I heard them say Boston in the lyrics it sounded like some sort of rally cry song for the area. I would love to hear the entire song. Can anyone help me out with the name?
