Johnny Football beasting in the Cotton Bowl right now. Looks like some mix between Brady and Russell Wilson.

Anyone watching? Brady successor?

He's a friggin Aggie. Forget about him.

^^^^ truuuuuuue and hes just running around the field. anda freshman he could fall off the face of the earth before hes even eligible for the draft

Marcus Mariota>Johnny Football...

Tho Johnny Football might be a good slot receiver when he gets to the NFL...

you guys are selling him short imo, he makes a lot of good throws in the rare instances that his athleticism doesn't get him by. I know the knock on him is he doesn't throw the long ball well (sound familiar?) but i see no reason he can't develop.

Cheap knockoff of Doug Flutie.

Mariota is better... 6-4 runs a 4.3. Calm and cool in the pocket. Great touch on the ball. Can scramble like JF. Is a better passer..

Tebow sucks.

Eh, doesn't have a great arm

Wouldn't mind if they get Ryan Swope with a 3rd or 4th round pick if he was there

JF Balled out tonight. Mariota is still better tho.. lol..

I thought he was supposed to go earlier than that.

Not that I think Manziel will be nearly as good as Brady or good at all, but he's a Freshman

Here's Brady's scouting report after his SENIOR year:

Negatives: Poor build. Very skinny and narrow. Ended the '99 season weighing 195 pounds and still looks like a rail at 211. Looks a little frail and lacks great physical stature and strength. Can get pushed down more easily than you'd like. Lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush. Lacks a really strong arm. Can't drive the ball down the field and does not throw a really tight spiral. System-type player who can get exposed if he must ad-lib and do things on his own.

If he looks like a combination of Brady and Wilson than hes not going to be the future QB of the Pats. If hes that good he'll be the #1 pick and go to the raiders where his football career will die.

If he naturally progresses form year one to year two like most do he will be one scary football player. I don't care whether this translates to the NFL, its just a real interesting story to watch unfold over the next couple of years. He could become the greatest college footballer of all time.

I think as a college footballer he is out on his own right now. Mariota is really exciting too but I don't think he is at Johnny Football's level.

There was also a "let's tank for Matt Barkley" thread on here last summer.

Want to fight? sarc/joke

In all seriousness, Mariota is right there with him. Mariota is just as special. His numbers would have been similar(even tho Mariota had More TD's, better completion pct. and a better passer efficiency rating), he just did not play as much b/c he was always yanked in the second half b/c the Ducks where killing teams.

Plus Chip had both JF and Mariota committed at the same time. JF knew he was not beating out Mariota, and so he went to the aggies(tho, Some off the field stuff might have had something to do with that situation lol)

Tho full disclosure. I am a Ducks fan, and have been arguing Mariota>Johnny football all year. Johnny Football would have to walk on water for me to put him over Mariota. lol

Either way, what a incredible year for redshirt freshmen QB's this year...
