Re: For Pats, no. 2 seed has grown into three superbowl titles

I think they only won two as the #2 seed. The 2003 team had the #1 seed.

Yea no biggie. Just think the mods need to change the title of the thread. 2 #2 seeds = 2 Sb titles..

Re: For Pats, no. 2 seed has grown into three superbowl titles

I think you meant 3 super bowl appearances (2 title) but point well taken.

it's 2 in 2. '01 & '04

Re: For Pats, no. 2 seed has grown into three superbowl titles

Yeah, the 2003 team was a 1 seed so it's only 2 super bowl titles from the 2 seed.

However the 2 seed HAS been very kind to us. The only times I can recall we've had it were 2004, 2001, and 1996. All 3 resulted in super bowl appearances, 2 resulted in titles.

Keep that positive stuff coming chaps.

As someone who poo poo's omens, lucky charms, numerology, praying and any other mumbo jumbo you can mention, I'm still curiously encouraged by **** like this.

trouble is there are about 100,000 stats available these days so any team in the playoffs can line up their own list of "good omens"

it's kinda like praying for victory--who can pray the hardest.

when all we really need is a damn good team. and we got that

Would be nice to hoist the Lombardi trophy where it all began... :)

Yep, why not win it all again where we have already once?? If Hernandez and gronk are healthy and a healthy secondary I am not scared of any team. Since someone will either be open or man to man when we are on O.

Just the thought of the Pats winning their 4th SB in my hometown gives me chills! Can we just get these games over already? The Pats won the SB the last time it was in New Orleans. The Pats also won the SB in 2003 (In which Beyonce Performed The Star Spangled Banner). This year the SB is being played in New Orleans & Beyonce is performing @ halftime. I hope this trend continues.

If we play the Ravens in the playoffs. To stay healthy, we must keep Bernard Pollard away from our players!

pollard has been a shell of himself all year with injuries..Not worried about him as he is and won't be 100%

Don't think we have to worry as he isn't even 100%.
