For some odd reason the dominant QB's with an exception of Drew Brees (Manning, Brady, Rodgers) normally don't get on the cover.

I guess they like the skill position guys.

Like so much in life, I suspect it is all about the money. EA has a license from the NFLPA to use the players' names and numbers and electronic representations, but I bet it has to work out a deal with the cover athlete separately to use their real photo. As much money as EA makes off of Madden, it has no incentive to pay a Brady or a Manning what their likeness is worth.

And Guess what....that game came out late 2002 and just happened to be the only year a Brady led team missed the playoffs.

He didn't score a TD for 6 games or something iirc. A little irrelevant now that he has the record though. You could look at the Lions and say they suffered from the Madden curse though, 10-6 last year to 4-12...

It's interesting when you compare the start of Megatron's career to the start of Gronk's career, given the dominance of Megatron, you realise just how unstoppable Gronk has become. Had he not broken his arm, he would have basically obliterated Megatron's first 3 seasons (yes, I know he has Brady throwing to him).

Honestly, I marvel at what Belichick is able to do:

1. Identify talent.
2. Obtain that talent.
3. Put the talent in an environment to perform.
4. Put the talent in a position to execute.

It truly is a thing to behold.

Well, GRONK was in the running to be on the cover this year. IF he was on the cover I'm sure all of us would be screaming that his broken arm was a result of the Madden curse.

No serious injuries for Megatron but his team did miss the playoffs by a longshot. And he had the fewest TDs he has ever had.
