The most hated/criticized pick of the 2011 draft is now bearing fruit. He has become our defacto, unquestioned starter at RB. The Pats haven't had such a talented feature back since the days of Corey Dillon.

Ridley is a tough runner and explosive. Yes, he needs to emphasize ball security more. But I think we need to appreciate what we have in Ridley. He has scored on two tough redzone runs. And gives us a solid back we can count on for 20+ touches a game.

This ball security thing is BS. 5 fumbles in 387 carries? 2 of his 4 this year came in a weather game where there were 8 fumbles in the game. The guy has solid ball security.

I thought that was Mallett. . . .

He's slowed down a little bit after what looked like was going to be a monster season, but 1200+ yards and 12+ TD is still a good season, excellent for a first season as a feature back.

Still room for improvement and I'm sure he will improve but I'd gladly take that year from our starting RB.

I'm a biased observer..

As I watch every RB we have run the ball, I can't help but compare him mentally to Maroney and think to myself: Wooee, this kid is GOOD.

Solid season, weak second half, should be an interesting battle in camp for the starting RB spot if Bolden goes to work.

no..he fumbled a couple of games back...he's no good...Pats lose next week...it's all bad...everything is bad

great season.

MOre than we expected at the start of the year.

Were you on these forums on draft night? There were a lot of panties in a bunch after the Pats took back to back running backs.

Maybe you should have started this thread on that forum then. Ridley has faced some criticism, but he's also gotten a lot of love, especially this season. Vereen has had more critics because of his draft position and slow start.

Guys who deserve a lot more love around here are Welker and Woodhead. I kind of wish the crowd had had the sense to start some sign the beast chants for Robert's benefit.

his cutting/direction change ability on a dime is awesome. I think it's his biggest weapon.

Vereen is getting criticism because he was taken ahead of Ridley. However because of how well Woodhead has played, it's really no big wonder that Vereen has not gotten a lot of snaps.

Would love to resign Woody at the right price. But a team that sees a potential Sproles-type clone in Woodhead might overpay for him. It would be a shame to lose Woodhead, but I think Vereen would provide us much of the same skillset.

The hand-wringing that goes on after each Pats draft day selection always gives plenty of amusement after the fact. Ridley was criticized as a redundant pick who wasn't 'fast enough'. Well it looks like the Pats scouting department got the job done right with the Ridley pick.

I love Ridley. Great great season for him and for us.

I love ALL our running backs and have a super soft spot for woodhead. He is a 1st class human being 1st and foremost. But if we lose woodhead, we have an olympian waiting in the wing.

...back to Ridley. 1,263 rushing yards, 12 TDs. Best NE back since Dillon.

but but but...he fumbles so we should trade him! (talk 2 weeks ago) :bricks::bricks:

Don't remember if I said it here, but I was telling anyone who would listen back in August that this was Ridley's year. I really liked what I saw out of him last year. Ball security, though not the issue some make it out to be, is something fairly easily taught.

Ridley is a top 10 RB in the NFL. The talk of him being the # 1 back is like asking if Brady should be are # 1 QB.

Woodhead is a WR/RB and he should be resigned based on WR depth just as much as RB depth.

Best stable of RB's we've had in my memory. Next season should be even better. Ridley is a beast and Vereen was injured early on. Bolden is a pleasant surprize.
