I'm sorry, but Brady and Manning shouldn't be in the conversation. What Peterson is doing is unheard of in today's pass-happy NFL. It will be a travesty if Peterson doesn't win the MVP.

That being said, Peterson should win MVP by a landslide. Too bad Manning will win it.

MVP...Most Valueable Player: The player that , if he was not in the lineup, his team would struggle. Who else on the Vikings is worth a damn other than Peterson. If AP is out, then the Vikings never sniff the playoffs.

Denver has a great Defense and made the playoffs with tim Tebow as QB. So take away Gomer from the Broncos and they are still in the playoffs.

It is not the Most Outstanding Player award, it is the Most Valueable...and that is where the idiot voter get confused.

I agree completely. What Peterson is accomplishing is verging on the historic. The fact that he's doing it alone on a team without a single other offensive weapon of note makes it more impactful. The fact that he is taking a 3 win team to the verge of the playoffs in the toughest conference in the league, SHOULD make it a lock.

Manning AND Brady aren't even close seconds if you consider the impact of what a single player has done that positively affected his team. Both QBs have offensive weapons that Peterson can't even imagine. Both QB's play in offensive systems that both diverse and complex. Peterson is running against 8 and 9 man fronts with a QB who can't break 200 yds passing

Peterson is having a remarkable year but i just can't take seriously the idea that a RB should win the award in today's NFL, it's one of the least important positions imo and the Vikings are 23rd in total offense. If he was having some transformative effect on his team I'd be more inclined to go for him but he's not, the Vikings are a 9-6 team winning because of their defense.

I really don't have a huge problem with Manning winning it.

Manning has had worse games against much worse defenses, but nobody cares about those.

Rodgers has a higher rating, more TDs and fewer INTs against a harder schedule with a worst defense and worse running game and his two best receivers both missing significant time.

Personally, I think it should be Peterson but if it isn't, I can't understand why a guy that isn't even the best QB could be the MVP.

What he did in leading that comeback against the Niners was pretty remarkable. If he and the team had finished the job, he could have come prety close to wrapping up the MVP. And who knows how that win would have carried over to last week.

Manning has had worse games against much worse defenses, but nobody cares about those.

Yup, they love Peyton and, this year, "the story."


By the way, I was reading Peter King's picks for this week, and he was talking about how the Chefs were one of the teams Manning visited in his tour. King speculated that if he had chosen KC, the Chiefs would be 12-4 and the Broncos 9-6. I dont see that; Denver made the playoffs last year and has lots of good, young players. KC -- I don't think Manning at QB would have made that much difference, maybe closer to 8-10 wins for the season. My 2¢.

Good for Peyton, he's a great player having a great season after many questioned his future, even into the first few games of the season. We're lucky to get to see players like Brady, Peyton and Peterson in their prime.

I think Peterson will win it. Peyton took an already middle of the road team and made them elite, Peterson took a pretty bad team, with a pretty below average QB and brought them to the playoffs. He's more valuable.

Had the Vikings lost that game, Peyton should've won it, but with Peterson's Vikings making the playoffs...I don't even think it'll be all that close.
