Peyton & Belichick

One wrap-up note from Super Bowl XLI.

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning said he received a good luck message from Patriots coach Bill Belichick the Friday before the game, Bob Ryan writes in today's Boston Globe (scroll to end of article). The two will connect in Hawaii this week, as Manning will play in the Pro Bowl, with Belichick as his coach.

iam sure media idiots will try this to spin in some other -ve way towards BB

BB is trying to make Brady jealous LOL

Are you kidding? They won't even cover it-it would mean acknowledging what a good guy BB is.

they will cover it as BB doing PR after not hugging him after the colts loss..

How about...

"Belichick sent a belated and begrudging message to Manning through third-party channels late in the week. A last-ditch psychout attempt by Belichick? One final effort to get into the head of the future hall of famer? No matter. Manning shrugged off any ill-wishes that might have been delivered and delivered a sterling MVP-performance in the biggest game of his career. No word on whether Manning sent a return message, but he doesn't have to. His performance speaks for itself."

That's not satire. Borges actually wrote that. You're just channeling him.

Haha...What a terrible thing to claim about another guy.

Classy by Belichick. I've always wondered why there is this perception that the Colts and Pats hate each other when they've never done anything but respect each other publicly?

Whassupwitdat?

It's strange, the two teams have this big rivalry now that they've both beaten each other on the way to championships, but there's zero bad blood. Hell, the Pats probably dislike the Chargers and the Titans (!) more.

Probably because there's so much respect there. Between Brady and Manning, who are friends, and even Belichick and Dungy (based on their postgame hug). And, judging just by this message board, Chargers fans are about a million times more annoying than Colts fans :)

Things haven't always been this cool between the two teams. People like pollard and Freeney shot their mouths off in years past. If you watch 3 Games to Glory 3 from 2005, tell me that the Patriots didn't show disdain for the Colts. After the game, Bruschi went over to reporters and he went on the funniest rant i ever heard. "...You changed the rules, you still couldn't win...etc. etc."

Exactly. When we owned the Colts there was zero respect and rightfully so. The Colts have had to earn any respect given by the Pats,at least beyond the respect they give every other team in the NFL.
The Pats hated what the Colts represented. Now they respect the fact the Colts have found a way to beat them by sort of becoming them.
What an interesting situation.
