Re: Tannenbaum reassigned not fired

Brilliant. Can't even make a decision anymore.

Re: Tannenbaum reassigned not fired

Now please God let them hire AJ Smith after he's fired on Monday.

I can see Woody giving the power to Rex to run the coaching and hiring of the team. Didn't Ryan hint thats what he was looking for.

Re: Tannenbaum reassigned not fired

Better yet, please give Rex full control of the personnel. We all know how good Rex is in evaluating players. This WAS the most talented Jets team of his 4 year reign.

I mean doesn't Rex DESERVE the right to pick his own player? Didn't he just cry at his presser to hammer home the point that he's a Jet for life. (....because who else is going to give him a job ;) )

AJ Smith can actually pick decent players. Sometimes.

They should either let Woody be the GM or Sexy Rexy.

Nice to see them rearranging the deck chairs...

And the Jets Insider has an article talking about the possibility of hiring Norv Turner as the OC. That would be awesome. Norv is an upgrade over Sporano, but I still don't think he is some the top end coordinator that people give him credit for. And as far as him developing QB's to me it seems Rivers is going in the opposite direction fast. And what QB has he "developed" outside of Aikman?

Since leaving Dallas to become the Redskins coach he has been an offensive Coordinator for 4 seasons.

2001 San Diego: 14th in scoring avg 20.7 PPG
2002 Miami: 12th in scoring avg 23.6 PPG
2003 Miami: 17th in scoring avg 19.4 PPG
2006 San Fran:24th in scoring avg 18.6 PPG

I don't get where this great offensive coordinator stuff comes from. The only good days he's had as an offensive coordinator was with one of the greatest offenses ever assembled.

Its been a while though.

Re: Tannenbaum reassigned not fired

I didn't think the Jets could make me laugh any harder. I was wrong.

Re: Tannenbaum reassigned not fired

If the reports are true, here's hoping that he's reassigned to cap duty. Those Sanchez/Holmes type deals are great!

Re: Tannenbaum reassigned not fired

what a great example of how to run a professional franchise. Wish we were like them....

Is Tanners, Woodies idiot nephew?

The New Jersey Jests... the team that keeps on giving comedy every single god damn snack I mean every single year.

Ryan and the franchise will be under the yoke of the cap hell that Tannebaum created for at least another year or two. Until then, I don't see Woody eating all that cap to allow Ryan to make a bold move.

They are in a very deep hole. It won't be graceful to exit it. There's a lonnng way for them to go. The Tebow bomb still has to explode. The Sanchez bomb still has to explode. The Sparano bomb as well. There are so many angles to this that it's like hypnotic, man. I'm zoning out on it like it's a fractal, man.

I was convinced that no other team could actually be as woeful as the Bills.

I was wrong. You gotta know that even the Buffalo fan base is cheering this move (and others) since it takes the laughing and pointing off of them, for awhile anyway.
