Big Vince fined 30k by Warden Goodell

It was a stupid play by Vince. And doesn't Ray Anderson and Merton Hanks handle the fines.

Tax deductible

havent seen anything as to whether the Jags OL got fined for the hit that made Vince hit back. anybody know?

Or does the fact that no flag was thrown on him protect him from a fine. I didnt think the system worked like that.

He could have delivered the same message with a hard shove to the back, probably at half the price.

No fine for Chung, whose hit was legal. Bad officiating...again.

And **** Sherman walks.

Are we supposed to think that Vince didn't deserve it? It was a dumbass move by a guy who knows better, and it could've cost them.

Let's not pull out the "Goodell's a Nazi" stuff when one of our guys actually screws up.

Wilfolk deserved the fine. He cost his team 15 yds in a close game. He might be doing the "right thing" by standing up for his teammates, but there are more subtle and smarter ways to do it.

I said all along that Chung's hit was legal. But the flag wasn't surprising. Hitting someone too hard is illegal in the NFL these days, and that's the plain truth. What WAS embarrassing for the league was the scene of all those refs throwing their flags after the first one was thrown. BTW- the first wasn't thrown until it was clear that Shorts was dinged. It was really a sad performance by the refs.

I'm happy Richard Sherman was cleared. The league clearly botched the test, and to suspend him in the first place, given what happened only makes it harder to prosecute the real offenders.

Was it $8K worse than Cam Newton's bumping of an official?? Cam only got $22K in fines so either Cam got off easy or Vince got shafted because in my book, Newton's action were far worse..

And if Wilfork had hit the guy in the lower back, there would have no fine. That precedent was set on the hit that ended up injuring Connolly.

So if Im correct this is the play he got fined for right?

Hasn't Vince already had a fine this year? It would explain the slightly steeper fine. We have no right to complain though. He's a leader, he should know better. Don't retaliate.

There was another incident where Jacksonville did a late hit and Vince came in and got some retaliation. It is good that he does this; we need an enforcer.

Rodney used to be our enforcer. I remember in a pre-season game some goon had a late hit on Brady. Next series Rodney destroyed their QB...
