I sure hope not, but outside of Pagano coming back I can't see the motiviation for the Colts to go all out. They are already locked in the 5 seed, and have a matchup set up with the Ravens. Plus they are organation that has a history of laying down in these kinds of games.

Damn, if only the Chiefs couldn't have pulled that game. The Colts were ripe for the taking. The Charles fumble right before the half was a killer.

I have a sick feeling that they will, that's just the kind of year it's been for Houston and us. So many breaks it is ridiculous. We really could have used that week of rest too

Will the team more known than any other team in the entire league for tanking, quitting, not trying to win, or however you want to put it,

once again lay down?

You can count on it. Cowardice is part of who they are. Quitting defines them.

Ehh.... let's just say it may be good for us to keep fresh and get ready to play a WC game.

The Colts are who we thought they were. Cowardly, lying down dogs. Let Tennessee in the playoffs one year. Let the Jets in 09. Tanked a season to get Luck. You know damn well they're going to lose. My only hope is that Cincy wins against Baltimore. Baltimore doesn't have anything to play for. We get to end Indy's season.

This isn't the Polian-Dungy-Manning Colts, who knows what they'll do.

Obviously banged up guys will sit; the rest I would think would play, the Colts aren't the quality of team that can just wait for the playoffs. They need to try to play well and have confidence heading in; not to mention Pagano's return as HC.

The dungholian duo isn't there anymore. It could play out different.

I think in that scenario Indy still gets the 5 seed unfortunately. Pretty sure I remember putting that in the yahoo playoff generator and it came out like that, could be wrong though.

If Baltimore wins and NE loses along with a Houston and Denver win then Baltimore would get the 3rd seed...correct?,maybe for some crazy reason they want the 3rd seed.

indy will rest some i bet...houston i think will win oh well..that 49er game will bite them in the ass in the end

Bruce Arians said they likely will not rest starters:
Pagano Returns, Colts Seem Unlikely To Rest Starters Against Texans - Stampede Blue

It's good for us (if they beat the Texans) and for them. If Luck beats the Texans, it'll help his case for ROTY, first game with Pagano back so he can shrug off some rust, and gives them some momentum if they win. We need them to win so badly.
Beating the Texans will be good for the Colts organisation. The belief that will instil in their player group heading into the playoffs will be enormous. Every team loves beating a divisional rival.

You mean like the crazy reason that the 3rd seed is a lot better than the 4th?

Fans on a message board think sitting idle and having your team abused on the field is a good way to prepare for the playoffs. Coaches do not.

They are a young team, with 7 of their 10 wins against the bottom feeders of the league, and only 2 quality wins, both almost 3 months ago.
A win against the team that beat them 2 weeks ago will mean a lot to their attitude and confidence going into the playoffs.
They can beat Balitmore easily in round 1 then would go to Houston. Laying down this week would be a mistake.

Bill Poilan says Hi!....Oh wait!!!!! The Rats also approve;the Colts laying down got them into the playoffs, that they would have otherwise missed, in 2009, and gave them enough bragging rights as the losing AFCCG team, for a lifetime.

So Polian doing the wrong thing is your counterargument?

No, the "Oh wait!" part suggests that he did exactly the wrong thing, and playing to win would have been the better course of action..

While I still despise the Colts, they seem to be dumping a lot of the traits that I couldn't stand the most:

1-quitting / tanking / rolling over
2-constant whining about injuries and about officiating, especially at the management level
3- following up the whining with attempted changes in rules or points of emphasis due to Polian's influence on the competition committee
4- a team-wide softness, with emphasis everywhere on speed rather than size and strength
5- especially Charmin-soft defensive tendencies, putting everything on the pass rush and then whining for holding to be called if pressure didn't get there

basically quitting, cowardly, whining, charmin-soft tankers with a media darling QB who was always never questioned about failures.

I wonder if they will hang a 2012 wild card banner! They hang those in Indy, you know!

If they don't maybe they truly have changed!
