Brady goes off on the Team

Brady wasn’t filled with holiday spirit after the win. An irate Brady could be heard upbraiding the team in the locker room following the game, with several expletives mixed in for emphasis. Multiple sources who were in the locker room confirmed that the franchise quarterback lit into his team after a lackluster performance.

This was like Larry Bird calling his teammates “a bunch of sissies” after Game 3 of the 1984 NBA Finals. Don’t expect any Patriots to clothesline the Dolphins next Sunday, but when a superstar delivers such an explicit message the team can’t ignore it.

I wasn't happy either. I was yelling at my TV all damn afternoon.

Brady lit into the offense on the sidelines. And he should have. This team sleepwalked through the first quarter and were inconsistent for the rest of the game. I know they had a lot of players out on defense and others playing out of position, but this was a lifeless, mistake filled game.

I listened to the radio for much of the first quarter because I was in my car. Right off the bat, Zo said that the team was flat in pregame workouts and it showed going into the first quarter. Seemed that they either felt this was an easy win or they weren't playing for anything.

I'm really just glad we won, but it was a putrid performance from virtually everyone, including Brady. A little off topic, but I've become convinced that even ex-players aren't able to predict games much better than fans. I listened to the WEEI pre-game with Dale Arnold, Matt Chatham and Kevin Faulk. All 3 predicted scores in the 45-55 to 10-20 range. And that happens all the time.

Everyone has had stretches lately where they've played like crap...and that includes Brady. He needs to let the coaches do the upbrading and needs to accept it alongside his teammates or he's risking coming off like a primadonna.

Only one of the incidents of Brady berating his teammates was actually shown on TV yesterday. He yelled at his OL too. Injuries or not injuries, this team is not picking a good time to play some of its worst football of the season.

It didn't look like it to me. It looked like they had a bad week of practice and were just absolutely flat. In the pre game warm ups, guys were either joking or laughing or looking completely uninspired. I think they took the Jags lightly. But that's just me.

It's not an excuse, but it has to be hard getting up for a team like the Jaguars especially when you do not control your destiny and are depending on teams like Cleveland and KC to make your game the least bit relevant. Chances are most likely that this game and next week's game are completely meaningless.

I don't buy the whole 'momentum' thing. Sure in some cases playing like crap or resting on the last week(s) has hurt teams, but I've seen plenty of teams go into the playoffs on fire only to be one and done or teams that back into the playoffs who wrapped things up with ease only due to playing in an awful division, end up going all the way. It's really an overrated thing IMO and even though you're obviously coached to put forth your best effort day in day out it just doesn't happen. We clearly weren't up for that game mentally.

Yeah, the 3-time SB winning, 2-time MVP, possible-GOAT unquestioned leader of the team shouldn't yell at his players, because he obviously doesn't know what he's doing. Brady should let Josh M. do all the yelling, instead.

Brady should obviously be more like Tony Romo.

INTs happen. I'm not going to blame Brady for at least one of those INTs. Nothing the QB can do about a player bobbling a ball.
