Report: Tim Tebow asked out of Wildcat because he was skipped

That's one of the most ridiculous posts this place has ever seen.

What?!?

Uh, it's the coaches decision to determine who starts. Tebow knows that. Just because a player gets beaten out doesn't mean he should refuse his role as a sub. That's a ridiculous attitude for a player to have. He's putting himself above the team.

So, The Jets didn't do anything wrong. Tebow did. That's downright bad locker-room behavior from a player.

Sounds like he's finally become a true Jet...

if this is true, I don't see how anybody can support Tebow for this.

Nobody knows what agreements happened inside those doors before he was traded and "sources" contradict Ryan saying it was "coach's decision". Just another article to stir up crap.

Also, if there already have been agreements made to trade him to the Jaguars, as ESPN already reported, it would make perfect sense he shouldn't play right now. Why risk a guy who had busted ribs a couple of weeks ago and will likely be traded for something of value? For what?

Um, he's on the Jets not the Jags and it wasn't the coaches who sat him it was Timmy begging out. Guess he's not the guy who would do anything to help his team. As the article states he's taking his ball and going home.

Time for you fanboys to wake up and stop this ridiculous idle worship over this clown.

He is a good dude that doesn't mean he should continue taking that crap from this team. Good for him and it's about damn time.

They didn't introduce him to the team without any officials from the organization.
Coach kept referring to him as a football player from the first day and offered no real support.
He gained weight, played punt returner, tight end whatever they wanted and kept his mouth shut.
Anonymous quotes from the lockeroom badmouthing him.
Then despite the worst quarterback play I have ever seen he gets passed over for the starting position and he's supposed to run the Wildcard to help the 3rd string QB when he wasn't even given a shot?
Everyone knows Tebow went there cause he thought he'd get a shot. He didn't go to the Jets to just run the Wildcat and play punt protector for them. They destroyed whatever good image and value he had prior to him getting there.

I hope he raised his middle finger too.

I don't hear Matt Flynn complaining, if you don't earn the job you don't play, they didn't think he earned it obviously. I'm with you on the overused anonymous source card being played by the NY media, it might be a load of crap, who knows. Tebow should'v known he was joining a circus.

Jacksonville was the better choice...

It depends on the situation. If Rex or whoever got him told him to come there put on weight, run the Wildcat, that he would get a certain amount of plays, learn how to become a punt protector, and if Sanchez struggles he would get a chance in the spread option...then they had a change of heart, would you blame Tebow if he kept his end of the bargain?

Everyone knew he wasn't going to win the starting job running Jets offense but is that what the agreement was? Again we don't know. What I do know is this is the same organization where BB put his resignation on a napkin and had this to say...

"I just don't feel I can lead the Jets in the year 2000," he said in a stunning announcement at the Jets' training complex in Hempstead, N.Y. "I just know what I need to do. I just don't feel I can do it right now."

"It is not about the future, it is about the situation I am in now," he added.

"I had no clear direction of where I am going in the organization."

Not the first time it happened.

A couple of months ago Woody was making statements to the press about Tebow being there for a long time. Then you had anonymous quotes in the media blasting him. Then he gets benched for the third stringer. Then there are rumors of him going to the Jets

At least us "fanboys" can read. Clearly you just came in here to get your shots in without actually learning the facts.

Ryan said during his news conference that they wanted to use Kerley because of the element of surprise. Afterward Ryan, through a team spokesman, said it was a "coach's decision" when asked specifically if Tebow had opted out.

That's the only official word. "Sources" claimed whatever you're spouting off there. And stop with condescending and your ridiculous comments about "idle worshiping" for someone being a fan and taking up for a player. Tebow's not my "idle". Or idol. Either way.

And if you believe Rexy on this I have a bridge to sell you.

As long as you and the and the rest of the fanboys and "idle worshippers" continue to pollute this board with this ridiculous Tebow adulation, I'll call you out on the idiocy of it. Hopefully this crap will at least get moved off the main forum to a sub forum where it belongs.

Get over yourself hypocrite. I didn't start this thread. And the only one polluting anything is you with your attacks and barrages addressed to the people taking a side, not the topic.

You need to look into that. Figure out why it bothers you so much someone else likes or defends Tebow that you get to the point where you have to start calling names or become condescending.

You have issues.

Hypocrite? How so? Please explain, do you know the meaning of the word?

Look it up. Maybe you'll find it next to "idle worshippers".

I know the meaning, no need to look it up. I'd like to know why or how you think I'm one. So I'll ask again - how am I a hypocrite? And try to actually answer the question this time.

You sure? Cause I have my doubts.

Well next time you are idling around and doing nothing, or perhaps when you finished worshiping your idol, try to think about how hypocritical it sounds to complain about "board pollution", addressed at the wrong person for one thing, when that's pretty much what you have done and in the process derailed a thread with your cheap personal shots and poor grammar. In the process you managed adding to the topic of conversation you claim you don't like rather than ignoring it so it falls off the page. Perhaps that was your intention, I don't know. I'm going to bed. Good night.

Yes, I'm the first person in the history of the internet to misspell a word while typing. Congratulations, you've brought it up 3 times now.

As far as the rest of your answer - rambling nonsense. And while you're playing grammar police lecturing me about the unforgivable sin of using the wrong variation of a word, maybe you ought to learn about what a run-on sentence is.

I was going to go to bed and hoped you wouldn't dig yourself into a deeper hole that would prompt me to respond, but since you are amusing me, I'll entertain myself one more time. Generally I'm not a stickler for grammar but I do at least feel it is a good idea to at least spell the insult correctly when using it against someone. In this case, your spelling also changes it meaning.

And I tried to advise you before, you really should look things up. I actually lectured you on being a hypocrite but while we are at it...

A run-on sentence is a sentence in which two or more independent clauses (i.e., complete sentences) are joined without appropriate punctuation or conjunction. It is generally considered a stylistic error, though it is occasionally used in literature and may be used as a rhetorical device.

So as long as clauses are punctuated appropriately, a writer can assemble multiple independent clauses in a single sentence; in fact, a properly constructed sentence can be extended indefinitely.

Now I'm really going to bed.:D

Well first everyone needs to keep in mind that these are just more "sources".

But even if true, you need to look at the bigger picture. Football players are also working for a living and their value is important. And this team pretty much destroyed that without him really doing anything at all.

He is a quarterback and wants to play quarterback. He was sold a bill of goods. He only agreed to doing everything that was asked of him because he was promised a shot. He fulfilled his end of the bargain. They didn't. Screw the Jets.

All anyone needs who has an axe to grind is an unnamed source. If that wasn't the case, the whole bogus concept of the unnamed source would not continually be propagated by the "media".
In this instance it is even worse than that. While there are very legitimate questions about Tebow the QB, Tebow the person repeatedly showed good character. I would think that would give everyone at least a moment of pause before assuming an unnamed source is even close to accurate. Nope! Far more important to be right than to be just and correct. Wow......

To me, it looks like the Jets have taken a page out of the Red Sox handbook regarding leaking info on players that won't return next season. Trash 'em on the way out to deflect from poor management decisions.

If the story is true, then good for Tebow. Time for Tebow to take charge of his QB career. People forget he was traded from Denver and asked to accept roles very few backup QBs participate in ....special teams coverage??? All indications are that the Jets are done with Tebow.....so he's done with them. Big whoop. Take charge Timmy and get the hell out of Jersey

That's one of the most ridiculous posts this place has ever seen.

Hmm... a certain someone posting a link to illustrate meat packing plant protocol comes to mind. :bricks:
