Even against the Jags, I'm sure I will get butterflys just before and thru early part of the game. Anyone have a cure for this? :)

Not this one. :) Usually it starts during playoff games though.

Some games during the regular season get me excited, but I only get nervous in the last few minutes if we are down or up by less than a score and our defense is on the field.

Just have a couple beers before the game or get plastered, that should help. I just watch sober and on edge personally. Limiting your caffeine intake should help as well.

All the time, doesnt matter who the opponent is.

Only come playoffs. Use too before every game but realized with the past 2 SB losses, it's not worth it..i don't play the game...why should i get nervous

Lose Denver/Houston d%#*!@t!

Barring a meltdown by either or both current top seeds, for me the next two weeks will be a snoozefest punctuated only by player-health concern.

I mostly get excited before games and more excited for the bigger games. Right around kickoff is when I start to get a little nervous. I've invested so much emotion into this team it's hard not to get nervous.

With me it's more excited and anxious, rather than nervous. But, yes I have those feelings before and during the games. Before, I always conjure up images of the Pats completely blowing the other team out of the water and also of them coming out and making uncharacteristicl mistakes (fumbles, interceptions, dumb penalties, etc.) and unexpectedly losing. After the first 5-10 minutes, I usually feel that I can tell if they're likely to win or not. Not always right, though.

Man, watching football will be a ton less stressful once I'm 21.

I never get nervous for regular season games at all anymore. Playoff games though, I usually don't eat the whole day until the game is decided that's how bad it gets.

no and never have. Because I go into the game thinking if the Pats play 80 percent of what they are capable of they will beat almost every team.

now if its 7 or less point game going into the 4th quarter come talk to me.

I get nervous before every game, not sure if it is anxiety, excitement or just anticipation...

Whatever it is it goes off the charts on night games, the stupidest invention of the NFL...

Every damn time. every time TB is gonna throw the ball i feel my heart just pops out.

hell, in the last SB i was about to puke the whole game.

I get nervous... especially after having stopped drinking during games... watching a game sober with no foods or drinks as distractions, puts you on the edge.

I get nervous before every game, and remain on the edge of the sofa (or on my knees during kicks), until we build a good enough lead and the game is well into the 4th qtr. I never write off any opponent (no matter how bad their record is) until the game is in its final minutes and the Pats are up by multiple scores.

If the Pats end up losing, I can't fall asleep for half the night. Following our last loss in Superbowl IXVI, I couldn't fall asleep for 3 straight nights. I looked like a zombie, but I was upset beyond belief. :(

I try to keep on reminding myself that it's just a game and there are MUCH more important things in life than football... but alas... once the whistle is blown, and the kickoff is kicked, I'm immersed in this game, and if the Pats are trailing, watch out, you don't want to be anywhere near me. I've also stopped going to Superbowl parties when the Pats make it there. I just end up scaring some of the wives.... I need the freedom to throw F-bombs at will, and hate restraining myself. My wife knows that once the Pats game is on it's time to evacuate the living room and take the kids (still young for football) upstairs...

lol, same here, I never felt like puking just general heart pounding anxiety. I need to channel my inner Bilicheck or something, especially during nail biters.
