Bengals at Pats Wild Card game could happen

The Bengals have a very good defensive line. It would be an interesting story line for the BJGE vs Patriots run D if it did eventuate.

Part of me doesn't mind facing tough defenses - it will be good preparation for the teams we could face next: denver, houston, and SF.

i would not actually be suprised to see cinci win out......steelers out of the playoffs

past history is past history....gotta go with what we're seeing on the field

pitt's running game is inconsistent at best.....their D is not what it used to be.....they laid a major egg last week

and b'more is beat up and sliding fast......

cinci isn't dominant.....but they are built to win this time of year

And What happens when we get Beat up? They just walk right over us. Listen to your other half.

I'd say Pitt or Baltimore are more likely. I give Cincy 1 in 4 odds of beating Pitt in Pitt Sunday. If the Bengals lose. they are out. Thus their game against the Ravens the following week will mean zilch to them, while for the Ravens, winning would mean a home game to start the playoffs. Look for Pitt to be here wildcard weekend - all they have to do after beating Cincy is beat Cleveland. And I agree with previous posters, Pitt's the last team I was hoping to see.

cinci can lose this week and still take the 6 seed (bmore loss to giants, beat bmore in week 17, pitt loss to cle)

This would be a realistic scenario except for the last one- not sure Pitt loses to Cleveland.

its still possible

i'm not sure pitt wins another game......i could say the same for b'more

they could both win out, too

we'll know in about 10 days

Before you make Bold Predictions...you should check to see when have Cincinnatti and Cleveland won a important game. If you are a bettors man i hope you are playing with house money if not you're just.: :deadhorse:deadhorse:

i look at how the teams have played the last 4 games....that's the only history that truly matters....the steelers have lost 3 of 4 (4 out of 5 even)...including a loss at cleveland

b'more has lost 3 straight, and is one OT win away from 4 straight....they are decimated with injuries

cinci has won 3 of 4 (and actually 5 of 6) and is built to win late in the year

the old NFL saying is you're only as good/bad as your last 4 games...."they've never won a big game" is nonsense......if you think cinci can't win out, you haven't been paying attention

this isn't the same Pitt team we've gotten used to over the years.....this isn't even the same B'more team we saw earlier in the year.....both are a mess with injuries and coaching turmoil....

You are correct, sir. My mistake was not even considering Pitt losing to Cleveland, but you never know, it could happen, you're right.

that division is always unpredictable.....and this year b'more is decimated by injuries, their defense has been average even when semi-healthy and their offense is a mess........pitt has coaching questions swirling, especially over playcalling, mendenhall is pissy, their run game is bi-polar, and they are dinged up as well....and they've already lost to cleveland at cleveland

i really could envision cinci winning out and taking that division.......but i really can see either pitt or bmore pulling a phoenix act and winning out, too

we have no idea what giants team is going to show up vs. the ravens, for example...another unpredictable team right there

Chuck up game to AJ Green? No thanks, hope they don't make it.

True, but playing jax and denver in the divisional rounds in 2007 and 2011 didn't prepare us for baltimore, san diego and giants. You make a good point but the pats didn't play particularly well after the divisional rounds those years.

I'm thinking they could scheme a little better for Green and Cincy, as opposed to Pittsburgh myself--but arguments could be made for both sides. Safety help on Green could limit his effectiveness on the defensive right side, and Talib can hopefully handle him at least 1/2 the time on the left alone.

I think that Pittsburgh while unpredictable and not playing well lately, is potentially more of a threat and a pain in the butt myself.

Let the chips fall where they may, I suppose.

One thing that I have noticed is that Cincy hasn't exactly beaten up on tough competition lately, despite their hot streak. They have played KC, SD, OAK, and PHI I believe...and lost to DAL. Those are their last 5 games IIRC.

We "should" be okay with either opponent.

The Bangles lead the league in sacks. The front 7 is decent. They actually might pose a bigger issue than the Stealers.

Exactly if once a choker always choker...I have a feeling week 17 against the Dolphins might not be an important game for our Pats. I want no PART of Pittsburgh in week 1 on the Playoffs. They will be the most Dangerous low seed in the AFC. The have won the SB going that route before no thanks.

if we can't beat this lowly Steelers team, then we don't deserve to go to the Superbowl.

oh we will beat the steelers...but like andy hart said the other day..i think also if the pats draw Pitt...we don't make the SB...still a physical team we would have to get through...last team i want to play is pitt..colts please..or #2 ( chance for that is gone..but still)

That 49er game was huge..i am not sure people understand what that game meant and will mean in the long haul...

I am afraid that you could be right about that one.

if somehow cleveland can beat denver....that it's all right again...but it just doesn't feel right for some reason this time around like last year did...
