-thinks the West Coast Offense is still alive (it isn't, only its concepts have been assimilated to other offenses)
-thinks Alex Smith was a star. I'm assuming because of his stats. Harbaugh majorly handcuffed Alex though by not making him do anything he couldn't do. That produced great efficiency but hardly any kind of passing game for opponents to worry about.
-thinks the public, politically correct opinion means anything from someone who is well known and well liked in public (speaking of Joe Montana)
-cares about Alex's loyalty when winning is all that matters
-thinks Kaepernick is garbage who has seizures when he throws, but arguably the best QB coach in the league scouted him, chose him, and supports him 100%. If you know the back story, Harbaugh personally made Kaepernick his 'baby' from a scouting perspective, so Baalke let him draft Kaep.
-thinks we want to get rid of Alex Smith to save money when we have consistently extended bigger contracts to our young talented guys, and we are barely under the cap as we speak.

I grant you that a constant pistol offense does not fly with me unless we change our running game to a zone blocking scheme. Without getting too much into the pistol formation, that's what it would take for it to be a balanced formation for us. I happen to like the pistol, and I have for a lot of years. I don't like us using the option all game with Kaepernick though. That's going to get our rocket arm, super accurate QB killed. If it was just a Tim Tebow, I wouldn't care.
