He looks fast, and has some good moves. Why can't he stick with other teams ? Maybe the other teams are happy with their punt returners ? Would we even be talking about this guy if Edelman didn't get hurt ? That being said, if we have an available roster spot (active not practice), and wanna save Welker the pounding, let's bring him in and see what we have.

I noticed in the highlights, once in the open field, Logan has some LONNNNNNG Forrest Gump like strides. Anybody know if he went to the combine ? I can't find anything official on his 40 time.

I saw something around 4.5 - but there was a note regarding hamstring or something to that effect

I thought I read they signed him to the PS... wouldn't they need to promote him first?

If he can be productive and save Welker, I'm all for it. We can't afford to lose Welker to an injury and we can reduce the risk by getting him off of returning punts. If he looks good on the PS, they will move him up.

would be interesting to see if he ends up making the roster as primarily a return man. that would save welker on punts...and potentially mccourty on kickoffs.

but a ps signing doesnt say too much on that regard.

With Edelman to IR I think it's definitely worth an active roster/gameday spot for a return specialist even if he contributes zero on offense. Not just the big play ability but as has been pointing out, sparing extra shots to Welker and McCourty who are crucial to our playoff run is well worth it.

Looks like a patriot from that interview at the end.

It will be intersting next year to see the traipining camp battle between logan and jeff demps.

Given Welker's case of the dropsies in the Houston game I wonder how much of that was caused by having to return punts too.

Good point. If the kid can at least field the punts cleanly that will be enough for me. I don't like seeing Welker back there on punt returns.

Patriots sign rookie free agent Punt Returner

I didn't see this posted anywhere. They signed him to the practice squad. Hopefully he'll impress and make his way to the active roster. I think its wise to keep limit Welker's reps on special teams, especially with Edelmann going on IR.

Logan served as a reserve wide receiver and the primary punt returner for Maryland for three seasons. As a senior in 2011, he played in 11 games as a punt returner, kickoff returner and wide receiver and returned 16 punts for 96 yards and 15 kicks for 316 yards. . He led the ACC and ranked third nationally with an average of 18.1 yards per punt return in 2010.

On a side note, I heard this kid FEELS THE POWER OF GRIDIRON GLORY RUNNING THROUGH HIS VEINS!!!

THROUGH HIS 'EFFIN VEINS!!!

I don't think I've ever seen anybody so adept at making the first guy(s) miss. He has an uncanny ability to fake guys into the stands. His vision is excellent and he has good patience when he needs it.

He seems to lack the super top end speed but who cares?

He got caught from behind a few times.
