A Texans fan says Patriots "borderline" cheated to neutralize Watt.

Any longtime poster here knows that Patriots Nation has enough village idiots to fill an entire idiot village. (But then their idiot village would be overrun by the vast idiot army of Jets fans.)

lol true,

just replace Jets with Titans and you're spot on :)

I am pretty sure Chandler Jones had a nice swat. Facing him in practice likely prepared Brady for Watt and anyone else who swats all the time.

AND...How bout' that Vince "The Swat" Wilfork? :singing:

Other than the Saints I cannot recall another fan base that came here in such numbers and yet there was zero trolling. I hadn't signed up for another team's forum in a long time but did because I was impressed that they all came in, stated their case for their team and yet there was none of the Ravenesque crap. I'm not going to call them out for their 5% which we certainly have here.

About this reffing thing, the player ran right into Welker and knocked him off his route.

The ball landed 5 yards beyond Welker a half second later. Can Welker run 5 yards in a half second? Yes, or no, maybe, maybe not. It doesn't matter. The ball was close enough and Welker was obstructed.

The ball was uncatchable? No effin duh! Welker was stopped in his tracks. of course he wasn't going to catch it--after getting stopped in his tracks.

The only bad call I saw was Hernandez being called for an OPI that ended the drive. That was positively bizarre.

Well, JJ Watt probably did some borderline cheating when he put on 90lbs of muscle in six months, so let's call it even. No offense to the man, but I don't think it was all cheese curds.

I didn't want to put this on the internet, but since you mentioned it, I think there is a very good chance he's using PED's during the off season, but from my experience in football that is almost to be expected, as the majority of them do take some form of PED's during the off season to bulk up, then they stop taking them about two weeks before training camp. Listen to Victor Conte on Joe Rogan's podcast, and you'll realize PED's are far more wide spread in the NFL than most people realize.

Thanks and right back at you guys :)

I personally think it was a BS call, but that's like cutting off your own leg and then complaining that you stepped in gum with the other one. When you play that badly you have no right to complain about officiating. Trust me you guys didn't need any help from the refs to win that one, lol.

Thanks for the good words in general, it's a breath of fresh air to play a team with educated and mature fans for the most part when we often clash with Titan and Jags fans who express themselves with a similar amount of eloquence as your Jets fan friends.

Hopefully we can start up a good rivalry with you guys and have some epic playoff battles for years to come.

Well you don't want to take an idiot on our forum's post and turn it into a Watt PED conspiracy theory, I mean there's no way to tell with ANY player but he's never even been hinted at doing anything like that.

"Did you see how they threw it to A.Hern twice for TD's, bunch of cheaters"-Dolphin defensive players.

And the missed helmet to helmet on the one sack on Brady. And while it didn't affect the play, the refs should have thrown a flag for PI on Stallworth's TD, which he had to catch with one arm because the defender had the other.

What really had me laughing at those complaining about the call is that the player who deliberately knocked into Welker wasn't even the guy covering him. It was the "help" defender. Pass interference is never so obvious as when it's committed by a third party.

LOL, he's getting killed by his own guys for that comment - no need for anyone here to chime in.

Best part of the thread was seeing Sanchez running into Brandon Moore's big ol' butt as a Texans' fan's avatar.

Texans fans have been a class act on this site and on their own site from what I've read, no need to ruin that because of the mindless ramblings of one village idiot as others have noted. Gracious to the point that I felt for them in their loss, unlike the jets who can't be beat into oblivion enough for my liking.

Great team and fans, welcome here anytime.

Seriously. I was watching the game with 2 fellow diehard Patriots fan, a casual Pats fan, and a Texans fan. I was the only one who thought that PI call was legit. The rest thought that it was uncatchable. I guess it requires pointing out that the ball has to have been uncatchable even if the PI hadn't happened.

In their world, it would be pretty good strategy to tackle opposing WRs as soon as the QB releases the ball. It'll always be uncatchable.

The one call that I think may have been a gift (can't confirm, since the game isn't up on Game Rewind yet) was the defensive holding flag on the 3rd down pass to Aiken that kept the first drive alive. I forget who it was (Brandon Harris?), but he was flagged for holding Hernandez, and it looked to me like it may have been inside 5 yards.

Probably all true.

I don't hesitate to put it on the internet, we're effectively anonymous here, and our posts hold little weight, so I'll just go ahead and say it - logic tells me Watt's weight gain seems unnatural.

But I'm not going to hold it against the guy, merely use it to potentially get under the skin of any righteous Texans fans. It was several years ago that he added said weight and I'm sure there's plenty of Patriots who used the same "diet" to get ripped, or like you say, stay ripped in the offseason. NFL is a dog eat dog world.

I wish I could say I borderline cared what some random has to say but I don't.

He was holding Welker, and though it went beyond 5 yards to about 8 (He held him to one yard beyond the 1st down marker, and the play was a 2nd and 7) I've seen the refs frequently leave that one alone.

Then again, you can't hold inside the first 5 yards either.

Don't forget the OPI on Hernandez though, that was bizarre.

the patriots borderline cheat on everything according to opposing team fans. there's no such thing as borderline cheating, if you cant explain what's cheating about it then you can't call it cheating.

They actually had a close up at one point of how the O-line was holding Watt down from jumping for the block. Sheer coaching genius. I suppose you could call it holding but it would have been really hard to pick up.

As far as all of the PI's went... Hernandez's was ridiculous but the one I couldn't understand was the Arrington call against Johnson. Is it just me or did Andre jam his forehand into Kyle's face and hold it there the whole way down the field?

Gruden, barely watching, says good call and then even as they show the replay of Johnson pushing off for a good 5 yards he says there isn't any question about the penalty. I had a question. Why wasn't that offensive interference? It was a terrible call.
